I stared out the window of the orphanage wondering how many times I have tried to watch the sun rise but was never able to because of breakfast. It is still dark but slowly getting brighter. I always wake up at this time just so then I might be able to see the sun rise. I had the same hopes for this day. I sitting on the window sill waiting impatiently for the sun rise. I looked over at the clock to see it was 4:00. Mrs.Murphy should be here. Sure enough she walk right through the door to the area where a lot of my friends and I sleep. It is just a concrete room with beds across the floor. This morning the beds were filled with sleeping children. Miss Murphy didn't try to be quiet as she entered. She seemed to try and make as much noise as possible. She had black hair and wrinkles covering her face. She always wore a dress even if it looks horrible on her. When she finished getting in the loudest she could, she stopped. She toke a breath in then yelled,"GET UP YOU SPOILED BRATS!" She says that every day to wake us up. I've been here my whole life. She is like a mom in a horrible way. The ones that seem more like family are my friends. Miss Murphy walked out of the room just as noisy as she was when she came in. Everyone knew what would happen if you didn't get up. It happened last year to a boy that didn't get up and ready in the five minutes we have. Miss Murphy stomped in there with a bucket full of ice cold water and dumped it on him. He also wasn't allowed to have breakfast.
No one move from their beds until Miss Murphy was down the hall waking up the other kids. Everyone seemed to be secranised as they all sat up at the same time. Some sat for a second rubbing their eyes while others were already on their feet. Everyone did what they needed to do in those five minutes and headed down stairs before Miss Murphy came back to check if anyone was still asleep or not done. I had already gotten ready for the day so I waited for Samantha to finish up. I stared out the window wishfully, one day I will be able to see the sun rise. Samantha is my best friend, if I forgot to mention. Me and her have been friends for 7 years. Samantha is always the last one out the door, And so I was to.
