The Evil Prince

a tale of two queens

Lilly potter née Evans smiled as she looked at the door that seperated her from the young child that slept peacefully behind its confines. The little boy was beautiful in every way, gaining the aristocratic features of his father with pitch black hair and vivid green eyes. James had told her that Hadrian had her eyes but she knew it wasn't true, when Hadrian got angry his eyes glowed and smoked with magical energy it had been the sign that he had inherited the powers that she had not.

Because Lilly Evans was not actually an Evans but a queen who came from a long line of evil queen's whose powers were the stuff of nightmares to the other fairytale inhabitants. But the human world had no idea that just beyond the veil of reality lied the world of Ever After. Every story ever told resided there, the citizens living their lives waiting in anticipation for their turn to tell their ancestral stories even their children wished for nothing more than to walk in their ancestors footsteps.

Lilly's mother however as the evil queen the lead villain in snow whites tale was one of the greatest and most powerful villains out there. When the evil queen knew she was going to have twins she knew she could not raise them together the laws of the fairytale world stated that the first born would always gain the destiny of their most notable parent. She may be evil but family always came first and she would not force her second child to live thru the scorn the fairytale world would place on her.

When the twins were born it was clear to their mother that velnias her first born had taken all the dark magic her sister would have possessed no matter how small that quantity was. She keep the two of them hidden from the world, training and teaching them in secret until the day when velnias was to be sent to school. Their mother crafted a special mirror that would send Lilly through the barrier between world's, once there the evil queen took control of the minds of a small family. The couple and their daughter would believe until their dying day that she was blood related to their family.

Lilly's smile grew a little as she remembered moving thru the mirror almost every night so she could be with her real family who always welcomed her with open arms. It was when she met severuse snape that they found out that there where people on this side of the vail who could access magic even if it was nowhere near the level or power of ever after. Soon her letter had arrived and she had to spend more time away from home than she wanted to but she persevered, it wasn't until the summer before sixth year that she asked her sister to help her make a soul mate finding potion.

She had screamed bloodie murder when the potion showed James potter as her soul mate, Lilly still remembered running to her mother when she came to check on all the noise coming from the potions lab.

Flash back
"What is going on down here" the evil queen said as she walked thru the door.

"Mother velnias and I were doing a potion to find my soul mate only to find out that it's potter, that lazy, inconsiderate, childish, bafoon what am I going to do" Lilly watch as her mother sighed

" well dear it's not all that bad, after all you father is rather childish but I am still with him do you want to know why" Lilly and velnias nod their heads, it had always been strange to watch their parents try to get along.
"It's because the childish ones usually produce the most powerful children"

Flash back end

It had taken months to even think of a way to even talk to James with out him trying to pull the brave gryfindor act to try and impress her. In the end it took the accidental breaking of her oldest friendship to see how great of a guy James was.

The two of them married right out of hogwarts before joining dumbledore's order to fight against valdemort and his death eaters. She still kept in touch with her real sister as the fake one had been tossed aside long ago, they shared experience thru their pregnancies with Lilly going over to cue at her little niece and velnias coming over in secret to see Hadrian when he was born. But this visit was not like the other ones, standing before a simple wall mirror with intricate metal work on the side she spoke the code that would activate it's magic.
"Thru the looking glass" stepping thru the reflective surface of the mirror Lilly found herself in her sisters private study that had belonged to their mother when queen castle had been hers.
"My, my it's been a long time hasn't it dear sister" Lilly turned to her sister standing not far behind her by the door clocked in a dark purple and black gown with silver accessories with a silver crown like ornament in her dark red hair her lavander eyes almost glowing in amusement.

"Certinly longer than I would like but you know how meddling old fools are they need to know where you are at all times" they shared a slight chuckle before Lilly grew somber "it won't be long before he comes for us"

"Don't say that Lilly I am sure if he really is as powerful as you say he is then he will realies how false of a prophecy it is" Lilly sighed as she sat down

"Velnias you know just as well as I do that if madness invades the mind even the most powerful of men will fall and dumbledore had eight full years to mess with that man's mind. there's no telling what path he was sent down, but you must promise me that if something happens to me you will take Hadrian no matter what. I fear dumbledore plans to turn my son in to his own personal weapon, the boy is starting to show signs of our family magic" the two sisters sat in silence for what felt like eturnity before it was the evil queen's turn to sigh.

"Very well but let's hope that won't happen" she said as she gathered her magic into her hands forming a small baby sized bracelet "put this on his wrist should something happen I will be notified immediately" Lilly nodded as she took the offered bracelet, no matter how much she wanted them to be safe and happy together she knew as sure as she knew the sun would rise tomorrow that her and her husband would be gone before the year was up.
