~Hikaru's POV~
Once again, Kaoru and I were requested to meet with our guests. I admit that I love making others happy but...I wish I had someone to make me happy. Kaoru makes me happy but I want to have someone to call my own. Plus the usual guests don't really interest me in any way.
After our guests left I gave out a sigh.
"Hey Kaoru?"
"Yeah?"
"Have you ever thought of being with someone who makes you happy?"
"I'm with you all the time so I couldn't be happier."
"I mean...be with someone."
"Like......in a relationship?"
"Exactly!"
"Well, I've thought about it a bit but not much. Why do you ask?"
"Honestly, I feel like it would be a good idea to go out with someone but none of the girls I usually see around don't interest me."
"I see..."
"Are you okay Kaoru?"
"Yeah, it's just.. I never thought id hear you talk about trying to be in a relationship this soon. I was hoping it would be years from now."
"Oh Kaoru! Is it because you think I'll replace you?"
"..Maybe.."
"Kaoru I'll never replace you."
"You promise?"
"Of course I promise!"
"Alright. What kind of girl or you looking for?"
"Wha-! I don't know. Fun to around I guess", I said sulking slightly. Since I've never had a relationship with someone I don't know what kind of girl I would like. I would like her to get along with Kaoru and the others for sure, but I mainly want her to pay attention to me.
Kaoru just smiles and leans back in his chair.
"I'll help you look around if you like?"
"Are you serious?!"
"Of course! If it means making you happy and as long as I can still be around then of course I'll help you!"
I stare at him in awe and then hug him.
"Thank you... Kaoru."
Some of the girls in the room began to fawn and squeal in delight. After a while Kaoru and I had to go to our classes. We both sat down in our seats and awaited Haruhi to arrive. She finally arrived and with a girl I had never seen. They both seem to know each other too. At first, I couldn't clearly see her face until she turned around. She followed Haruhi toward our direction and my face felt hot.
"You can sit here", Haruhi said to the girl. The girl smiled and sat down in the seat in front of Kaoru. Haruhi then sat down and got out her work.
I couldn't get that girls image out of my head.
Her beautiful (e/c) eyes, her (h/l), (h/c). That gorgeous smile made me feel weird.
"Um.. Hikaru, are you okay?"
"What?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine! Why wouldn't I be?"
"Because you have been spacing out the while class period and everyone left."
"What?!"
He was right. We were the only people in the classroom.
"Come on, we are going to be late for host club."
"Um, alright."
We walk silently to the music room and sit down at our table.
"Haruhi?"
"Yes Hikaru?"
"Who was that girl you were talking with earlier?"
"An old friend of mine, her name's (Y/n). She is actually coming by later after school if you want to meet-"
"Yes I would love too!", I yelled out loud while grabbing her shoulders. She looked at me confused and then pushed my hands off her.
"(Cough), sorry."
"It's fine, just don't do anything unnecessary when she is here or else you'll scare her off", she said. I sat down and waited for our guests to arrive. Before I knew it, it was the end of the day and I was in the music room.
I sat on the couch, my palms sweaty and my heart was beating faster than ever before.
"Hikaru your face is red. Are you sick?"
"No I'm not sick. I'm just nervous is all."
"Why?"
I was about to answer but then, she walked in. Looking as radiant as she did that morning when I first saw her. Haruhi walked over to her and took her hand, leading her to a table. They both sat down and began write on paper. I found it strange but decided to ignore it. I watched her laugh at what and smile while they spent their time together. Soon the girl left and my heart beat slowed down. The whole time she was there I couldn't help but look at her.
"Hikaru?"
"Hm?"
"Tamaki just discussed the party plans with us. There is going to be a dance this Friday."
"Wait! What day is it?"
"Monday."
"Perfect! That gives me enough time!"
"Time for what?"
I couldn't even believe what I was about to say. It was so hard to believe that I almost choked on air.
"Asking...(Y/n)...togooutwithme!"
"What about (Y/n)?", Haruhi asked.
"Apparently Hikaru has taken a liking to (Y/n) and wants to ask her to the dance this Friday."
"Shut it!", I yelled.
"Aw that's so cute Hikaru! Would you like me to ask her for you?"
"No that's alright. I'll figure a way to ask her."That night I couldn't sleep. I kept thinking about how I could talk to (Y/n) without freaking out.
'Ive never had this happen before, so....why now?'
The next morning I saw (Y/n) in the garden. She was picking (favorite flowers) and putting them into a little basket.
My face began to feel hot so I turned away but it didn't help. Once we got to class, (Y/n) was already there and she was giving out the flowers she had picked. I sat down at my desk and watched as everyone got flowers. She then looked at me and I stopped breathing for what felt like forever. She walked over and put a flower in my pocket. I stared at her as she smiled and walked over to Kaoru to hand him a flower too.
Kaoru turned to face me and smirked.
"She is a unique little flower isn't she?"
"Shut up", I huffed.
Again, I dazed off in class as I imagined how I could ask her out. My mind brought back the image of her picking the flowers in the garden.
'Hm... I should ask her to meet me there at a certain time. Maybe....after school?'
I wrote on a piece of paper asking (Y/n) to meet me in the garden after school. I gave it to Haruhi after class and asked her to put it in her locker for me.
School soon ended and I stood by the patch of flowers that she was by this morning. I didn't wait long until I heard footsteps approach. My eyes wondered and meet her beautiful (e/c) orbs. She smiled at me and took out the note I had written - as if to show me it's proof for something.
I scratch the back of my neck and look down.
"So uh, I know I haven't really talked with you...but um, there is this dance coming up and I wanted to know if you would go with me."
(Y/n) looked at me with a confused expression while she tilted her head.
"Are you going to stare or are you going to answer me?"
She still looked confused and she shook her head.
"This is stupid! I shouldn't have even bothered with this!", I yelled before running off.
I sat in the music room on the couch while I listened to Tamaki talk about the dance.
'Why did I ever think I could be with someone?', I thought.
The next few days were worse. I didn't see (Y/n) that much outside of class and everyone I did, she was talking with some other guy. It pissed me off greatly but I couldn't do anything about it.
Thursday after school I noticed her alone by her locker. When she saw me she waved and smiled but I just ignored her. As I turned the corner I stopped to look back but she was gone.
As I walked into the music room I was flooded with preparations for tomorrow night. Right before Kaoru and I left for the day I felt a tug on my arm.
"You've got some nerve doing that to (Y/n) you jerk!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Running away from her the other day and then completely ignoring her! She feels horrible and I saw her crying in the hallway on the way here."
"Well it's not my fault she didn't want to talk with me!"
"She does but she doesn't know how!"
"What does that mean?!"
"(Y/n) is deaf! She has been her whole life!"
"What?"
"That's why she didn't say anything because she doesn't know how to talk. That's why she didn't answer you."
"How was I supposed to know?"
"Have you seen her write? That's how she talks with others."
"I see..."
"You better apologize to her tomorrow Hikaru."
"I will."
Kaoru and I then went home and prepared for the next day.
The next morning I was prepared to apologise to (Y/n) but she didn't show up for class. I was upset because I didn't know whether or not she was sick. If she was I wouldn't be able to apologize till Monday.
"Haruhi, where is (Y/n)?", I asked.
"She mentioned something about her having an appointment this morning but I don't know what time she'll be back."
I nodded and sat back in my seat, listening to the lesson. The rest of the day I looked for (Y/n) every chance I got. It turns out she never showed up. I also tried asking Haruhi if she had heard anything from her but she didn't.
Everyone started to get ready for the dance while I sat on the couch and sulked.
Later that night I left the dance and walked to the garden. As I sat in silence I started to regret being so dense. When I opened my eyes I saw a someone standing in front of me. It was (Y/n). She was dress up in a short (f/c) sleeveless dress and she looked absolutely stunning. I stood up and looked her in the eyes. Before I could speak she put a finger to her lips and handed me a note.~Hikaru,
I'm sorry that you didn't know about me being deaf. I thought you already did. The other day I didn't know what you were saying but Kaoru told me. If I known what you asked I would've said yes. Haruhi told me earlier that you were trying to apologize to me for making me cry but you're already forgiven. It wasn't your fault why I was crying. I cried because I was upset about myself. If I wasn't deaf things would be easier. Today I had an appointment with a doctor who might help me be able to hear. We had to do many tests that's why I didn't show up today. It may be too late but will you go to the dance with me?~After I read the note I felt my heart beat faster again. She looked at the ground as if too nervous to look at me. I tilted her head up to look at me and I kissed her cheek. She blushed a bright red and I smiled before bidding my head yes. She understood me and wrapped her arms around me tightly. I gently embrace her back, still smiling to myself. I take her hand and walk back to the dance to enjoy the rest of the night.
