Chapter five
Rose's P.O.V (Jynx)
Jade blushed at that, "Sorry, I was trying to warn you about that crate," a few tears starting at the corners of her eyes, "Those were my family pictures, and I'm highly protective of them." I watched a single tear slip down her flushed cheek, "They're all I have left of the good times, before," she sniffled, "Before the divorce, before our family broke apart." she was now openly crying.
Now I glared at Beast Boy, "Wait to go idiot." I snorted as I pulled Jade into a hug.
Raven was gritting her teeth, "Let's go, before I do something I'll regret."
(Two hours later)
I was surprised, after we'd gotten her out of the tower Jade seemed to loosen up a bit. Currently she was laughing with Starfire as she held up a bright pink t-shirt up to the orange skinned girl to see how it'd look about the same time Star was trying to do the same to her with a sea green sweater.
Raven was standing next to me watching as well, "Well that looks promising." she stated. That's when Jade left Star looking at the clothing racks while she walked over to us holding two shirts, one a deep purple tee while the other was a long sleeved black with sparkling black sequins.
"Do either of you like these?" she asked smiling.
I quickly snatched up the black shirt, "How did you know my size?" I asked in shock, while she merely smiled.
Raven examined the remaining purple shirt and smiled herself. "Thanks Jade." she stated in her usual quiet voice.
Jade's smile widened, "I'm just glad I've still got a good eye for something like this," her smile faltered slightly, "I used to do this with my sister, and she said I had 'the touch' whatever that meant," her smile fell even more, "But that was before."
Raven, Starfire (who had flown over when she'd heard Jade's voice crack), and I all hugged her, "You don't have to tell us if you don't want to," I murmured as I hugged her tighter, "But just know that we're here for you when you need us."
She gave us a soft watery smile, "Thanks girls," she sniffled as she hugged us back, "This means a lot to me."
We all spent the rest of our time out laughing and simply having fun. It was great watching Jade's transformation from the timid little girl from the tower, into a beautiful social butterfly.
I smiled at Raven as we walked back to the tower, Jade, Star, and our shopping bags were both floating in Raven's magic beside us as the girls slept.
