The Straw Hat Pirates are some of the strongest pirates in the sea. They've been through so much. They'd been through happy times. They'd been through sad times. They'd been through gain. They'd been through loss. They'd been through victory. They'd been through defeat. Yet, they still stood up after each fight. After each argument.

They weren't like your normal pirates. Normal pirates seek power. The Straw Hats sought happiness. Normal pirates fought for riches. The Straw Hats fought to avenge their friends. I never liked normal pirates. But the Straw Hats were my role-models. They were so kind, helpful, and strong. I wanted to be like them. But how could a 16 year old be like them? It was a stupid thought...

Oh, right. I should introduce myself. My name's Tokuda. Tokuda Kinzo. What am I up to right now? Well, it has been said that Luffy's hometown was in Foosha Village, and I've already told you. He's my role model. So I wanted to visit that hometown and see what it's like. So I asked my friend to drop me off there, as a tourist of the town. We were pulling into the port, in fact.

It looked so... small. How on earth could one of the strongest pirates start off in such a small town? The town was just a few small houses lined in rows, and in between those were wide streets. There were only two interesting things in the village. Party's Bar (where my friend says they make the best rum he's ever had), and the mountains. Those beautiful mountains. And those were the two places I'd visit first.

After my friend docked the ship, I waved goodbye to him and set out towards the bar. However, something was odd. A long line of locals were standing outside of the bar doors, and a lot of noise could be heard inside of the bar. I walked up to a man in the line to ask him what was going on.

The man seemed to be in his late 20's or early 30's. He had jet black hair, and he wore a suit that looked better than anything anyone in that town could afford. He must not have lived there. Maybe he was a tourist, like me.

"Hey, sir." I said. "What's with the long line?" I looked closer at the man's face, and I saw that he was angry about something. He looked at me, still showing anger. "The damn pirates in there are drinking up all the rum and liquor that this little place can hold!" The man yelled. "By the time we get in there, we're not gonna have anything left to drink! We came here to drink, not watch others drink!" The man looked me dead in the eye before he said his next sentence. "Pirates are the dumbest, laziest bastards who think they have power. That's all they are, and that's all they'll ever be. Never be like them, kid."

I was surprised by what he said. I didn't believe any of it, of course. He must've never heard of Luffy and his crew. I decided to go to the bar last, and see the mountains.

I got to them. They weren't that tall. In fact, they were just about as tall as a pirate ship. It would probably take 10 minutes to get to the top. So I walked over there, and was stunned by what I saw.

Three bandits trying to steal a little girl's pet. It was a cat, and you could tell it wasn't cheap just by looking at it. But talk about cowardly. THREE bandits to steal ONE CHILD'S cat? I knew that a stop had to be put to this, so I ran over, punching one of the bandits dead in his stomach. While he was disoriented, I started to get the little girl back home. But before I could tell her to run home, she looked at me. "Mister, are you a pirate?" She asked. I was slightly taken aback by her question. Pirates must be pretty popular here. "Nope. I'm just someone who's helping out." I said. But before I could tell her to run home, one of the bandits points his gun at both me and the little girl.

"You... You little brat!" He yelled. He aimed his gun at the little girl's head, but I wouldn't let her die. I got right in front of the girl, and since her head came up to about the middle of my back, the bullet would hit me in the stomach. The bandit pulled the trigger, not yet realizing I had stepped in front of the little girl.

Have you ever gotten shot in the stomach by a bullet? No? Well, I can't even begin to tell you how badly it hurt. I fell to the ground, and looked behind me. The little girl was there, shocked, but safe. "Don't tell me that you're thinking of protecting this brat, are you?" A bandit said. "G-Go... home...." I managed to get out. The little girl looked at me. "Alright. I will. Thank you!" She said. "You'd make a great pirate. Pirates are nice people." And with that, she was off. I didn't have much time to reflect on her last sentence, because a bandit kicked me onto my back. Then another had put his foot on my neck. Then another drew his sword, about to kill me.

"You wanted to protect her, didn't you?" The bandit with the sword said. "You know, one of you had to die from the start, right?" I shed a tear. Not a tear of sadness. Not a tear of regret. I shed a tear because I was happy. "G-go ahead..." I managed to get out. "I've a-already saved her a-anyway." "If you say so..." The bandit said. "But I do wonder why you protected her. That's a Scottish Fold, worth 500,000 Beli. If you'd've known that before we'd shot you, maybe you'd've joined us in robbing her. But it's far, FAR too late for that now."

He gripped his sword in a way so it wouldn't slice me, but so it would stab me. He then thrusted his sword downward.

It was headed directly for my heart...
