She stared into his blue eyes hoping that one day he could be hers. He was blushing and smiling, but the blonde usually had that affect on him. Maya's heart leapt when she heard him take a deep breath and say,
"I'll play the long game. Live your life, I live my life. I know you're out there and . . . I'm out there too."
"That's your deal?" She responded almost too giddy to speak.
"That's my deal."
They stared at each other for a moment before Josh lifted his hand up and said,
"Someday?"
Maya met Josh's hand with hers and said,
"Someday."
They sat there staring at their hands. Maya even had the tiniest sliver of hope for them. Meanwhile, Josh couldn't help but think one thing 'I will wait for you.'
