"Wake up you silly cow if you're late for your first day I am literally going to wallop you one."
I hear the familiar voice of my older sister as she tugs at the pillow underneath my head.
"Piss off and let me sleep. I don't wanna wake up I was dreaming about something." I said grabbing my pillow and violently burying my face in it.
"I'm going to give you the count to three." She said, by her tone of voice I am judging she is doing the usual arms-crossed-foot-tapping-disappointment thing.
I rolled my eyes and sat up.
"Wow I didn't even need to start counting. GREAT!" She cheered.
"Today is a new day Olivia. Its a new dawn it's a new day it's a new life." She said springing and bounding towards my windows, tearing the curtains open. A burst of light shone through my window and I literally cowered back into my sheets to avoid the blinding light.
"Fucks sake.." she muttered, closing my curtains again. "You live in darkness you weirdo"
"Hello darkness my old friend .." I muttered with my eyes closed. I snapped them open and screamed in her face. She jumped and ran out of the room in a hurry.
"Well that did it. " I exclaimed, closing the door and locking it.
There was a knock at the door.
What could it possibly be now?
"I expect to see you clean and presentable in your uniform okay?" I heard her muffled voice through the wooden door frame.
England sucks. Fucking uniforms here and there. Usually a college would have own clothes but no my shitty new school had to go ahead and enforce a uniform policy so you can't even tell the year 7's to the short year 13's like me.
I showered brushed my teeth and blow dried my hair, letting my dark brown long curls fall into place. I lightly brushed on some mascara and put on some lip balm. I pulled on my tights and tucked in my button up white shirt. I then placed on my skirt and tied my hair up to quickly put on my tie and let it back down again. I places on my pumps and opened the door.
My sister was literally waiting on the floor on her phone.
"Tahdah" I sarcastically exclaimed. She looked at me in awe.
Before she could say anything there was a cry coming from her room. She waited for it to stop but it didn't. "Bloody men, always the women doing the work." she said as she walked off to go sort out her baby, Maya.
I grabbed my bag and basically just chucked my pencil case in seeing as I had nothing else yet required for the new shitty school.
"Have you got everything?" My sister asked, lovingly holding her child on her hip.
"Yeah I've got it all." I said, shaking my bag with the single pencil case in it. The noise seemed to entertain the baby and she let out a giggle.
I gave her a kiss on the cheek and jogged down the stairs, grabbing a banana on the way to the door.
"Have a good day at school squirt" my sister's fiancé ruffled my hair.
"Bye dickhead" I exclaimed before closing the door behind me.
I half jogged half walked to the bus I was about to miss. The door was just about to close as I tapped on the glass and the woman acknowledged me.
"Sorry love. Haven't seen you before? First day?" The woman asked. She had long curly brown hair and looked in her 40's with a florescent green striped jacket on.
"Yeah, I just moved here from Devon." I said, gesturing to my tanned skin.
"That sounds lovely. Well find a seat love, were late as it is. Heads up in usually five minutes earlier so don't try to miss me tomorrow." She chuckled.
"I'll make a mental note" I thanked her with a nod and walked down the isle, there weren't many people on here, but to be honest when you live in the middle of nowhere you don't expect a lot of people.
I took the first seat I could find at the middle back section of the bus, and whipped out my headphones, playing some Don Broco.
I felt the seat next to me sink and I tore my gaze away from the fields we were driving past. I took out my headphones and looked at the young girl next to me. She was about my age, with blonde hair and the same uniform to me, except she had a badge which said house captain.
Oh fuck off. We have houses now?
"Can i help you?" I chuckled nervously.
"Hi! Sorry I couldn't help but hear your music." She exclaimed happily, looking back at her friends, who seemed to be smiling deviously. Okay something is going on.
"And if you could be so kind to fucking turn that shit off, our school doesn't take in slags with shitty music taste. So change it quick before I break your god damn headphones." She smiled bitterly and sat back with her friends who were roaring with laughter.
Oh great.
