I feel my cheeks pink at his question. I stutter not sure how to answer. "I mean. If you want." I could see how happy he was from that answer. His smile was beautiful in the day light. His teeth were straight. His top Caine's were a bit longer than the average but they were so attractive. I casually sip on the coffee my face noticeable red at this point. I adjusted my glasses hoping he wouldn't notice. "I um. I'm not sure if you noticed but. I have a cat" I said. Distracting myself from my face. "I hadn't noticed." I chuckled. "yeah. Mellows a lot like me. A but skiddish around people" he leans in closer "I'd like to learn more about you. Could you tell me about your past." I frown and look out the window. A mom and daughter walk pass. The truth is. I don't remember my mom. Or my father at that. I look back at him. "I grew up like most children. Mom. Dad. A cat. Mom worked an office job and dad was a police man" I made up on the spot. "I wasnt popular in highschool. Nor was I unpopular. I just existed. College. Pheew. I could go on forever about college" I chuckle. All of it was lies. All but college. "What about you. Tell me some about your past" he looks me in the eyes. "I was orphaned as a child. Never knew my parents. I was in an orphanage until I was 18. Actually. There was...this girl. She. She was so beautiful. The girl I was talking about earlier. She and I were so close. We made this promise. But. She couldn't keep it. They pulled her from the orphanage and into another farther away from me. I haven't seen her in a long time. Actually. I'm pretty sure if I was to see her again. She wouldn't remember me." I frowned. "that's so sad to hear. I'm sorry that happened. Man. I'm slightly heart broken" he adjusted in his seat. "yeah. Don't be sorry. We can't control everything". He chuckled. I hadn't noticed but my coffee was empty. I must have been chugging it as he told his story. I stand "well. If you're coming home with me. You better get ready to go". I close my laptop I pay the cashier and left a tip on the table. He follows me to my car. "I usually walk everywhere. So. If you don't mind" I smile "yeah. Get in." I noted to myself there was a sharp pocket knife at the side seat compartment so if I needed to defend myself I would know how to strike.
Once at my house I reach out to unlock the door but I feel a strong arm twist me around and pinned me against the door. I was scared. I hadn't brought the knife. I was defenseless. I tried not to look him in the eyes. I was to scared to move. He lifts my chin so that I'm looking him in the eyes. "you don't remember at all do you" I look at him puzzled. "I don't understand what I'm supposed to remember" I say as I try to move from his grip but he was a lot stronger than me so it was to no avail. "fine maybe this will help you remember" he presses his lips against mine into a passionate kiss. My face burned. But. Kisses are supposed to send fireworks in your head. What I saw was like fireworks. But. Horrible. It was a burning house. I was holding my hand out screaming. There were flashes of reds and blues from police cars. The house collapsed. One gunshot. Two. Three. Silence.
