I stared down at Nick as constant gasps still circled the room. A teacher called Mr Corban pushed past students in the crowd as Miss Carol followed behind him. Miss Carol leaned down to Nick. He had scruffy hair and pale skin and his eyelids were almost a purple bruised colour. "Right." Mr Corban's deep loud voice echoed the hall.  "All students back to the front of the hall now! The principal will sort you out." He said sternly. Then the principal's (Mrs Jean) high pitched voice sounded. "ALRIGHT! ALL STUDENTS TO THE FRONT NOW! CUT THE NOISE DOWN! AMBULANCE ARE ON THEIR WAY!" She shrieked. I was relieved an ambulance was coming for Nick, I wanted to know if he was okay. The teachers just checked his breathing and heart rate, it is normal, but I don't think Nick is waking up any time soon. "Can I stay with my friend?' I asked hopefully staring down to Miss Carol. "No! front of the hall now!" She lowered her eyebrows. I sighed and gave her a cross look. I squeezed through the swarm of loud students towards Caleb and Myles. They were sitting down talking looking worried. Caleb looked over to me "I can't believe he's gone." Caleb sniffed looking over to Myles who had his hands over his face. "He's not gone! He's is unconscious." I scratched my head awkwardly. Myles eyes widened and him and Caleb looked up at each other dreamily. Myles hand was on his chest. "Thank god! He got hit hard though I am surprised he's still living." He scruffed his long messy hair around. "Same, seriously from the second he got hit I thought that was it." Caleb sighed. "Well anyway he's in better hands now." I pointed to the door. One slightly short man and another lady came in with a stretcher. Two other men came in after them. They were dressed neatly with bright green and orange ambulance uniforms. "Come with me" Myles stood up. We walked through the crowds and stood in front of all of the students to get the best view of Nick and the ambulance workers. There was staff putting giant buckets under the huge hole in the wall to catch the dollops of rain.  "Now we need to be careful in case this boy has any broken bones, I don't think his back is looking to good." One of the ambulance men said putting his arm under Nick to feel his spine. In the corner of my eye saw a bright red car pull up outside the hall. I looked out the window and Nick's parents hopped out the car and rushed into the hall. Nick's Dad was always working and I was surprised he turned up. Nick got lifted up on the stretcher and I watched as they loaded him and his parents into the ambulance.

After about 30 minutes of waiting in the hall one of the teachers decided to call the police about what had happened to the hall. A bunch of police turned up and we got escorted back to our classes finally. Me and my class lined up and it took us about 10 minutes to finally get out the door since the whole school had to get out too. We finally got out and sprinted for our lives through the rain. It felt as though everyone was scared to get struck by lightning too, in fact I was a little bit scared too. The wind made my hair go crazy and it was all in my face making it hard to see. When I got through the door to my classroom it was a wave of relief as the heat touched my skin. The heat pump had been on the whole time we were out and it had really warmed up this classroom. Everyone was sopping and we took our shoes off at the door. We sat down on the mat and enjoyed the warm air as the wind bashed everything around outside, I felt really safe and warm in here. I went over to my class-mate, Clarissa. "Hey, this is a crazy school day!" I rolled my eyes in despair. "You can say that again. Wasn't that guy who passed out your friend?" She asked. "Yep." I couldn't help but tear up, I was so worried about Nick . Bailey and Shanita soon joined the party. "I legit went to the bathroom and came back to see a big hole in the roof. I didn't see Nick though... What happened?!?!" Shanita panicked. "Long story short, lightning smashed through the roof and hit Nick and he passed out." I said tearing up again. "No, I want to know every little detail on what happened please, please, PLEASE!" Shanita begged. I told her as much as I could and she was so amazed. "What if he... umm... Doesn't matter" She wiped her eyes. "Just say it" I looked at her sternly. "Well... It's a bit sad.. But.. What if he dies?" She scowled. "Well, no one can answer that. The only answer I have right now is there will be no Nick around" I said just about crying. "I pray he will be ok." Clarissa pleaded. "Same" I shrugged. "We have just got to hope for the best."
