Borusal - Bo-rue-sal: a desert country, and our world's equivalent of the middle east.
Chief Berkowitz: the current chief of police in Königstadt. He's known for being hard headed and for being a bit of a jerk sometimes.
Lady von Braun: the wife of Manfred II. Opinion about her is positive for most, due to the funding of ongoing humanitarian aid she's provided, but some believe that it's all for show.
House Dankopf - dan-cop-f: a middle tier Vorbereicher house hoping to become allies with House Eltz. Lord Werner Dankopf, the current house head, is the cousin of Lord Dieter Eltz through his mother's side, and is thus a close friend of Lord Eltz.
Dunram: a Vorbereicher political and social theorist whose works are beginning to gain popularity among the peasant class of Vorbereich.
Friedrich Eltz: the son of Lord Dieter Eltz and Lady Viktoria Totefels, as well as the heir to House Eltz. He's known for being bookish, a social recluse, and a tad of a slob.
House Eltz: A powerful Vorbereicher house with Lord Dieter Eltz at its head and Lord Friedrich Eltz as the heir.
Hanjai: an island country, and our world's equivalent of southeast Asia.
Keitel Quarter: a middle class neighborhood in Königstadt filled with restaurants and shopping.
Königstadt - Con-ig-stat: the capital of Vorbereich. Manfred II calls this city home, as well as most of the prominent men in the country. The high courts of the country, the country's imperial universities, and every other government institution are all based here. Because of this, it is also the epicenter of the unrest in the country.
Magyar - my-yar: an eastern country that is our world's equivalent of eastern Europe. Though they were allied with Vorbereich during the war, they faired much better than Vorbereich afterwards due to the fact that much of the blame for the war was targeted at Vorbereich, which is part of the reason why many Vorbereichers are antagonistic to Magyarans.
Manfred II: the current king of Vorbereich. Though he has a high approval rating as king (he's helped rebuild the country after the war of the powers), many in the peasantry believe that there's more he could do to help them, and that his view has been corrupted by the nobility.
Palace of Justice: the supreme court of Vorbereich. Located in Königstadt, the biggest cases in the country are all tried here.
Rochereux - Row-sher-oh: a country neighboring Vorbereich, and our world's equivalent of France. A member of the Lindtin powers, they aren't exactly friends with Vorbereich, though trade has been slowly getting back to the way it was before the war.
House Saaltz: a minor Vorbereicher house with a successful import-export business.
Scharff Quarter: a lower class neighborhood next to Vergesse. It isn't quite a slum, but is pretty close.
House von Strauss: A middle tier Vorbereicher house. They're allied with House Dankopf due to the marriage of Lady Helene von Strauss and Lord Werner Dankopf, and have thus enjoyed steady income from the textile industry.
House von Thurzó: A lower tier Magyaran house that has made Vorbereich their home. Lord Tamas von Thurzó is the current head, and due to the fact that Lord von Thurzó has no male children, Lady Katalin von Thurzó is the heir.
House Totefels - toe-te-fels: a Vorbereicher house currently allied with House Eltz, due to the fact that Lady Viktoria Totefels is married to Lord Dieter Eltz. This marriage has resulted in House Totefels becoming one of the most powerful houses in Vorbereich.
Valtruscia: a country by the ocean, similar to Italy.
Vergesse Quarter- Ver-guess-eh: the poorest neighborhood of Königstadt. Those who are out of work, who work in factories, or are immigrants to the city, often find themselves living here. Because of this, it is also home to many of the crime syndicates in the city, and the location of the main factories of the city.
Vorbereich - Vor-bear-ike: The main country in the story, and our world's equivalent of Germany. Political unrest has divided the country in the twenty years since a war with the Lindtin powers ended in a whole lot of death and destruction. The economy is still very unstable, and unemployment among the peasant classes runs rampant. Hardly anything in the nobility has changed in the past few centuries, even with the war.
Vornehm Quarter - Vor-nem: a prominent neighborhood in Königstadt that is home to the Überhaus and other institutions dedicated to the arts. The Imperial Symphony Orchestra, one of the best orchestras in the country, finds its home here, as well as the Imperial Academy of the Arts.
The Überhaus - oo-ber-haus: a grand opera house located in the Vornehm neighborhood of Königstadt. It's the main opera house in the country, and is famous around the world for its grandeur and beauty. It's often used by the nobles not only as a place for entertainment, but as a place to conduct business deals and to show off their wealth.
