"Okay students, we will be arriving at the camp site soon. When we arrive, please listen out for the tent you will be staying in."
God, I hope I don't get placed in a tent full of annoying girls. I ran my hand through my long brown hair. My bra was really starting to annoy me since we had been sitting in the coach seats for so long.
"Hey Sam! I heard some Seniors get to choose the people they are in a tent with!" My friend sitting next to me told me while reading the update off her phone.
"Well that's great, where do I choose?" I replied feeling relieved.
"No only some get to choose. I 100% know you don't get to choose." She mocked while laughing.

I hauled myself out of the coach, pulling my backpack onto my shoulders. Once I had gotten my luggage, I stood where all the student body had gathered to hear where they would be sleeping.
Miss O'Connor held the holy clipboard. The one thing parting us from sleep and peace. She slowly began announcing the tents.
"EVERYONE LISTEN UP! So our entire camp is split into two parts, A and B. A is for girls and B is for boys. Then in those parts there are separate tents numbered from 1-4. So an example would be A3. Part A, tent 3. I'll start calling the names now."
Miss O'Connor slowly started calling the names off her board. She had gotten all the way up to tent A4 and I still hadn't been called out. Then she went to part B.
I figured there was just some sort of innocent mistake. I just let it pass until Miss O'Connor got to tent B4.
"In tent B4" She slowly started to read, "Francis Graham, Luke Tunham, Danny Redford, Kay Harper and Sam Foster."
What? Sam Foster was my name so why was it called out in that group?
I walked over to Miss O'Connor and pulled the best fake smile I could. "Ah, Miss C, I think you got my tent wrong, I'm a female and you called me in the boy tent."
She eyed me suspiciously, looking down at her clipboard just to verify wat I just said. She looked back up with and without a cautious smile replied.
"It seems you're correct...dear. I'll speak with the Camp Staff and see which tent you are in. Stay here."
Miss O'Connor held the clipboard close to her chest and walked away to the Camp Staff, occasionally tripping on a branch.
I stood alone, leaning on a tree when someone bumped into me from behind. "Ow!" I instinctively shouted and behind me I could feel the person quickly backing away.
"Oh my God, I'm really sorry! Are you okay?" The voice behind me called out. I turned around to see a (respectively) short boy looking at me and apologising frantically.
"Ah, it's okay. I'm fine." I replied, halting him from apologising further. "Which tent are you sleeping in?" I asked him to ease the awkwardness as he tried to haul the large suitcase around the tree I was slumped against.
"Um, I should be in tent B4," He said while pushing up his glasses and squinting at his small information booklet. He looked up and then smiled. "My name's Luke Tunham. What about you?"
"Oh, well I'm Sam Foster. Nice to meet you," I answered cautiously.
He looked at me in a confused way. "You can't be Sam Foster, he's the guy that's sleeping in my tent!" He countered wildly.
"That's what I'm trying to sort out. I shouldn't be sleeping in your tent because, as you can see, I'm clearly a girl," I agreed while furiously nodding my head. "And they better find my tent soon because when I get in there,I'm sleeping until the next Zombie apocalypse happens!"
He started to laugh and I looked at him skeptically. "THAT made you laugh? Well then, you should see me when I'm trying to be funny!"
"I'm a big fan of humor, I'll laugh at anything that's either remotely funny or ironic." He breathed.
"You're strange Luke, very strange," I mocked and I could her a faint 'Coming from you!' being mentioned but it was interrupted by Miss O'Connor making her way back to us and coughing loudly.
"Well, you see Sam, there's no space for you here. There are no available spaces in the girls tents and the only place for you to go is in the B4 tent. The camp staff thought you were a boy and misplaced you. I'm very sorry." She made out.
I breathed in. This is not good. Defiantly not good. This was my chance to escape home for a bit and it's about to be wasted by these good for nothing little shi-
"It's fine! I'm sure Luke and the other guys will let me,pardon the pun, *camp* out in their tent!" I answered with as much positivity as I could muster.
Miss O'Connor gave me a...weird Smile but nodded her head. "Well dearie, if that's what you wish,"
As me and luke walked to B4 with both of our bags trailing behind us, we saw the huge amount of bags piled outside tent.
We walked in through the tent flaps and immediately as we walked in a fast flying soccer ball flew towards Luke who, surprisingly, caught it and passed it back to a guy sitting opposite the entrance.
"Aye, Shortie, it's a little to early for you to be bringing girls back to the tents, don't you think?" He laughed and the guy sitting on his right side laughed.
"Fuck off Danny." He laughed back "This is Sam. She'll be living in this tent with us for this entire month?" Danny asked.
"Yeah, so make sure you treat her nicely. Which also means," Luke said while looking over at me, "You gotta give her...well...personal space."
"Why thank you Luke," I smiled "What are everyone's names?"
The guy who I obviously knew was Danny hurriedly jumped in. "My names Danny, babe. Feel free to climb in my sleeping bag anytime" He stoked his black hair in a flirtatious way while biting his lip.
I looked at him for a moment, laughed then shoved him away. "Okay who's next?"
"Hey! You can't just push me away like that! I'm irresistible!" Danny cried while making his way to my side.
One of the guys stood up from where he was sitting next to Danny and smiled at me. He aimed a hand at my direction and I took it in a friendly handshake.
"I'm Francis, feel free to talk to me if you need any relationship advice," He smiled and I nodded my head in appreciation.
"Hey ,dude, are you gonna introduce yourself or what?" Luke asked he remaining boy sitting in the corner of the tent while waving his hand in between his eyes and phone.
"Oh, yeah. I'm Kay. Nice to meet you." He quietly but cooly said.
"Don't mind him, he's always acting so high and mighty," said Danny "I know all the girls would rather go for a manly and straightforward kinda guy,"
