Let me start out by introducing myself. I'm Cassie Layton, 19 years old. I'm from Seattle Washington, born and raised. I love dancing and I recently got into a very important dance program and since then I've been living, hm, what is the word? Ecstatically! There is only one - huge - problem. My father needs to move to Argentina for 2 years in order to get the promotion he's been wanting for so long and the entire family - it sounds like we're a big family but it's actually just my mom and I - needs to go with him. Do you see where the problem lies? If I move to another country I'll be throwing my dream down the trash can. I can't drop out of the dance program, I worked too hard to get in.

"Cassie, come down here" my dad yells from the kitchen.  I go downstairs.

"Hey dad, what's up?"

"I think I found a way for you to stay in Seattle" he says while putting away the groceries.

I jump of excitement "No way! Tell me!" and start helping him.

"Do you remember my friend Liam?

Liam Mitchell is an old friend of my parents, I know him since I was 4, I used to be at his house all the time playing with his kids June and Nickolas but I haven't seen him in 5 years. He moved with his family to Florida and that was the last time I heard of him.

"Liam Mitchell?" I grab a juice box.

"Bingo. He's back in Seattle, he got divorced and moved back here with Nickolas, do you remember Nick? Anyway, I talked to him about us moving to Argentina for 2 years and told him about your dance program and everything and guess what?"

"Dad, tell me you're not suggesting I stay with him"

My dad nods his head positively "I already talked to your mom and she agreed"

"Why don't you just let me stay with Jessica?"

Jessica is my best friend, she plays the piano at my dance studio. How can I describe her? She's 5'5, blue eyed and has long light brown hair. The girl is an angel sent from heaven to help me get through hard times. To say she's like a sister isn't enough.

"Honey, we've talked about this, we don't know her family. We've known Liam for over 15 years and he is a good father, you'll be fine with him."

You don't know her family I think to myself. It's not that I'm not happy about my dad letting me stay, I'm exultant about that, I just don't have a great feeling about staying in the house of a man I haven't seen in so long and to live with him and his son who I used to have a crush on. That can and probably will be awkward. But I can't complain.

"Ok dad. Thanks for helping me." I say and give him a kiss on the cheek.

"You're welcome princess."

I go back to my bedroom and text Jessica

Cassie: I'm staying!
Jessica: Omg! Who are you staying with?
Cassie: An old friend of my parents. Nick Mitchell's father.
Jessica: Nick Mitchell from school? The one who moved to Florida?
Cassie: That one.
Jessica: Didn't you have a crush on him?
Cassie: Oh stop, I was little, it was nothing.
Jessica: Please, you were 14, not that little.
Cassie: Well, I don't have a crush on him anymore.
Jessica: You'll be living with him, it could bring back some old feelings lol.
Cassie: It won't. Now I have to start packing my stuff. Ttyl.
