Hāmonī walked slowly through the forest, feeling tears dripping off her chin onto the ground. She watched them as she walked. Drip, drip, drip...

She didn't notice Akihiko until she crashed into him. "Hāmonī? Are you okay?" Akihiko said in a concerned voice. She looked up at him "No," she said softly "I am not." Slowly, carefully, she explained everything. Kagura, Koga, the memory loss, it just slipped off her tongue. The tears on her face dried, and by the time she was finished she was more collected at least.

"Hāmonī..." Akihiko murmured, putting a hand on her shoulder "Don't worry. We'll find a way to cure him. We can do it."

She nodded, letting herself be filled with hope. They could do it. Her and her band, together, would find a way. To help Koga. To help herself. "Are my eyes red?" She asked him, realizing there would be questions back at the camp.

Akihiko shook his head. "Only faintly. You'll be okay. I'm supposed to seeing to getting some firewood, go on back without me." Akihiko melted into the woods, and after standing there for a second, she continued on to the camp.

She smiled when she walked in, and sat down next to Minto hoping, hoping, that no one would ask her. But of course Kiyōna had to ask "So where's Koga?"

Hāmonī felt her throat tighten, but managed to answer "He... had to go." Kiyōna nodded and went back to her conversation with Aqua, Yuri, and Shippo. Laughter pealed from the group as Aqua told a joke accenting a story Kiyōna finished up.

Minto walked away from Kirara and Mika, curling up to Hāmonī. "What's wrong?" he asked softly, so no one else could hear. She replied in the same soft voice "I'll tell you late. For now, spend as much time as you can with Kirara. We leave in the morning." Minto nodded, unquestioning, and went back to Kirara and Mika.

Akihiko came back, and they briefly discussed what they were going to pack before heading off to bed. Minto came over to Hāmonī, and she managed to discuss the situation calmly. Minto swished his two tails when she finished. "We'll follow you to the ends of the earth, you know. We'll help you."

She smiled slightly. "I know. Thank you, Minto"

Hāmonī no longer felt sad, not longer felt guilty. She, with the help of her friends, was going to find a way. All she felt was determination.

Welcome back, My Apprentices!

This is the first chapter of the new book! I know the title is a little meh, but honestly, I couldn't think of anything better. I had to get this out for you guys!

The update schedule is probably going to be a little rocky up until school starts, which hopefully should smooth it out.

And I'm sorry the chapter is short, but I'll be sure to post the next one soon.

That's pretty much all I have to say, hope you enjoy!
