"guys, there's no getting off this planet, atleast not with this much damage that im seeing out here," Jason reported over the comm. Device on his spacesuit, "so we cant get this piece of crap ship to work, in time before we run out of oxygen and supplies, and we cant transmit to earth too, I say we are all dead men walking.......woman." joe cursed from inside the ship. "positive thinking guys, positive thinking, we've got one of the most brilliant mind in the world, two very cocky but experienced military guys and one of the most beautiful face on earth..me, on this ship, we cant just give up like that." Peggy rebuked, "one of the most beautiful.., yea right." Jason muttered over the comm, "I heard that. Jay." She announced "justin report, do you think you could do something about that transmitter ?" peggy asked, "yea..... with a whole new motherboard, there is no fixing this crap, miss megan, this whole board is fried." Justin replied. "first of all kid, its peggy, second... do you think could get anything you can use to fix it, from my laptop, maybe the motherboard or anything kid, some body should give me some good news." Justin thought it through for a minute, with a finger on his temple as if to spell out, 'brainstorming', "your laptop, yea, I think I could come up with something." Justin replied....... Bang!! A noise split through the air from outside the ship, accompanied by a blinding flash of blue light, that began to fade almost as fast as it came. "Jason, come in, Jason, do you read me?" peggy called, tapping on the comm. Device on her suit, trying to restablish connection, but nothing came, she repeated the same routine a few more time, still nothing, except an ear splitting silence, until......."yea, I read you captain, over." Jason's voice came over the comm, "thank heavens,," she let out a sigh of relief, and she noticed the others behind her do the same, "you got us worried , for a minute there, report, what was that noise and flash?" Peggy asked, "there's nothing to report sweetpea, all I gotta say is you'd really wanna see this." Jason replied, "see what, what was that jay, report!?" peggy pressed but Jason was relentless, "you'd really wanna come out and see for yourself, this is a site to behold." Jason said, "ok I'm coming out.....and soldier, you better not be fooling around with me." Peggy slid her mask shut, and activated the oxygen supply, the others did the same too, and they stepped out of the ship and unto space land, staggering a bit on their feet, cause the didn't expect such low level gravitation, "so whats the matter, why did you pull my ass out here, this better be worth......" "shut up and just look." Jason cut her off mid sentence, pointing out into a vast, very vast land space, until her eyes caught what looked like a city, "I'll be damned, is that a city?" peggy exclaimed, "you wanna go check it out?" her question was rhetorical, but Jason answered it anyways. "you had to ask? Hell yea, you coming joe?" "I'm not exactly enthusiastic about walking into an alien and possibly hostile city, so no thank you, i rather stay stealth mode and see what I can do about this dump, joe pounded his fist on the hull of the ship to try and make a point, don't ask me what point, I'm not in his head, "they might not be hostile, we gotta try and see if we could get them to help us, besides, I don't see our ship crashing out here, as stealth mode, they might have spotted us go down, and are probably on their way out here." Peggy persisted, "my answer is still no, there's no convincing this big guy, you go on ahead with Jason" joe told her, "justin, what about........... what the hell kid, put your mask back on!" peggy yelled at justin who was already stowing his spacesuit away, back inside the ship, "its ok miss..... peggy, the air is pure and safe to breathe, cant come with you though, I gotta back and work on that transmitter thingy" justin provided, "really, wow, finally I can take off this suit, it stinks, I think Jason mistakenly took mine..... or purposely , and kid, you got a point there, fix that damned radio, lets go jay." Peggy turned around to leave, "peyton" joe called out and she turned to fgace him. "whatever happens or you see out there that you don't like, turn tail and run back here, don't take any risk, play it safe." Joe instructed, she might be the leader of this mission/expedition, but he was more experienced than herself and for that, she respected him. " roger that, you both, play it safe too" she replied and they took off.
In a very short time, what they were seeing very far away, they now saw, up, close and direct, the city that had appeared from no where was booming with life and activity, there were no guards are the gate, so they let themselves in, "this is so cool, peggy, I feel like I'm In one of those sci-fi movies, ET phone home, ET phone home." Jason imitated with the most creepy voice he could manage. "quiet jay, you don't know if they can hear you". She rebuked, whilst running her hands over displayed wares trying to blend in, "actually they cant, but I can." A voice with a low southern drawl came from behind them, and peggy jerked around to face the third party, only to find..... well no exactly what she was expecting to find, the stranger had the build of a gladiator, his face was like that of a god, his hair shone like golden sand on appollo's beach, and his smile..... his smile seemed to freeze everything over, or was it just her, cause she just stood there, staring at him like a total moron, he must have been atleast eight feet, five. "hello, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you.", that drawl came again, "oh.....no....not.... you didn't frighten me, I was just...... I'm sorry i.i.i... didn't mean to stare." She stammered and the stranger just let out a low, calm laugh, that she thought was cute...............probably, I wouldn't know, I just guessed , cause she just stood there and blushed, "its no problem, I'm Zartani, and you two don't look like you are from around here." He offered a handshake.......an actual handshake, and she took it, with trembling hands, "yea, we just visiting a friend, I'm peyton megan, but my friends call me peggy, and this is Jason, my... brother" peggy could feel jason's surprise at the word 'brother' but she didn't care if she had to lie to keep their ass alive, its not that this adorable gentleman.....gentle alien was going to hurt them or anything, but hey, looks can be deceiving, Zartani laughed that cute laugh again, and peggy felt her knees buckled beneath her. "ok, peggy, Jason," he cocked an eyebrow at her company and Jason acknowledged his countenance with a light nod, "but I meant, you guys don't look like you are really, from around here.........around this planet" he mentioned that last sentence In a low whisper, lower his head that it was barely an inch away from hers, he was so near that she could smell the scent of his after shave......do alien use aftershaves? Pull yourself together peggy, she rebuked herself, mentally, " yea, we kind of aren't, how....how did you figure?" she admitted, he recollected his posture and was about to answer that question when he spotted a guard........ scratch that, a search party rather, "here take this." He unwrapped a piece of clothing from around his neck and handed it to her, "whats that for..............what the hell is that creepy thing on your neck?!" she exclaimed gawking at his neck. "keep your voice down, its called a maleski, or gills in earth language, it allows us breathe under water, we all have it, but you don't, that's why you need this." He explained, wrapping the clothing around her neck, by himself, and that tingy scent of his after shave, hit her again, and she inhaled it, savoring the whole fragrance, Zartani stole a glance at Jason and saw that he had done wisely, by hiding the relevant part of his neck with his shirt collar, that would do for now, "come on lets get you out of the open, I think that search party is for you guys." Zartani took her arm and guided her through the crowd, her reflex reacted in kind by grabbing jason's and together, the trio navigated their way, through the crowed in the square and through a lonely street that looked like an alleyway, then into an apartment that he unlocked with his eye to a very small hole on the door post, probably his place, when they got in, her eyes immediately swept through the entire apartment, It wasn't that big, but it looked.......it was comfortable, she concluded, "so this is your place?" she asked, fighting to stay her nerves, "kind of, yea, you guys would be safe here, for now" "so you guys are almost like humans except for the malski.." "maleski, he corrected her," it was a stupid question , but she had to ask it, "yea, except for that and a few more things" "a few more things....... Like what?" she interrogated, "like, look out the window and tell me what you see." She whirled around and looked out into pitch blackness, "nothing, I cant see any thing, I think the power just went out." She supplied, "no, they actually turned off the power, while we were back at the square, you were only able to see through my eyes," he mention, "how.....how is that possible?" her words were barely a whisper, "our lenses have some sort of higher and more clearer night vision, that allows us to see in the dark, it also send information not only to our brain, but also to our Onthri, the Onthri is a very tiny needle like receptors on our palm, that enables us transfer information to one another just by touch each other, so when I grabbed you I let my Onthri connect to you, giving you information, or let me put it this way, you were inside my head, seeing through my eyes, Jason wasn't seeing anything until we entered the apartment, he was just letting you drag him along." Zartani explained and the room fell silent afterward until Jason finally said, "that's some creepy cool, man, all tis is all cool." Zartani just let out his normal calm laughter, "I'll tell you more later, now, I need to go take care of some things and get you guys sorted out, if anybody knocks, don't open, I wouldn't knock cause I can can unlock the door, I'll be back soon, you can help your selves with anything, food, water, a bath and some cfresh clothes, anything at all, make yourselves at home." He turned to leave, "Zartani" peggy's voice stopped himand he turne to face her, "why are you helping us?" "because somebody did the same thing to me, back in earth, welcome to Orion." He replied, and a lot of questions began popping into her head for him, but she decided to stow them away fro now, till when he returns, later. So she just managed to say "thank you." "you sre most welcome," he replied and stepped out, shutting the door behind him.
