The rain pours down in a dark haze that makes it near impossible to see. Two figures take me out of the comfort of the car and hand me something... Their eyes, dull with no feeling showing through their faces. I sit on a lone bench in an old town. My mother hugs me once then slowly makes her way to the car again. They start to drive away... But why? Why would they leave me here? Is it a game...?
My eyes flutter open as I stare at the ceiling... The cracks opening it piece by piece. I can't help think that what I'm looking at could be a feeling... But it is.
When I was three years old my parents left me on the side of the road... And drove away without anything but a necklace... "Karia! Darling, it's time to eat! You have a big day ahead of you!" Mrs.Peters says. After living on the streets until I was seven, Mrs.Peters found me and opened an orphanage that I have been living in since now. I'm now seventeen years old and I go to high school just like any other.
I sit up and climb down my bunk bed fast enough to be able to change into a tank top and some shorts. I run downstairs as all my "brothers and sisters" smile at me. I can tell I'm going to leave this place...
