It had been a week since the guard and Lexa's army went to war with Ice nation.
The camp was silent and people went along about their day as if they weren't at war.
The camps achievements this week are high. There's new buildings and markets, new jobs and horses, and many other things. The council meetings were as normal as they should be but with Marcus gone Abby's been silent and her voice hasn't been heard by no one other than Jackson and Clarke.
She's been depressed since Marcus left and everyone can see that's she's very sad and lonely about something but no one can pin point it.
She mopes around in medical tending to patients and going over supplies. She talks to Clarke with a motionless voice that Clarke hasn't seen since they found out that Jake would die.
It's the 8th day they've been gone and Abby walks into the mess but not to eat, Clarke could barely get her to each all week.
She try's to keep busy and find something to do. Clarke notices her walking into the mess and she watches her mom walk to the bar.
"Hey, one sec my moms at the bar." Clarke says to raven.
Clarke stands to her feet and walks swiftly to Abby.
"Mom!" Clarke calls out half way to her.
Abby's head spins around in Clarke direction and she shows a small smile that doesn't meet her eyes.
Clarke sits next to Abby and sighs.
"Mom, what's wrong, you e been acting depressed all week, is something bothering you?" Clarke asks and Abby sighs at her question.
Abby's shoulders tense as to how to tell Clarke what's wrong.
"I'm worried about the guard and the grounders." Abby sighs in her answer and Clarke shakes her head.
"Mom, your never this depressed over the guard and the grounders, they'll do fine." Clarke States an Abby returns her focus on a writing she's doing.
Then it hits her, her mom isn't worried about the guard she's worried about Kane!
Clarke let's out a slight unnoticeable chuckle.
"Mom, it's fine you can tell me, I won't judge." Claire says with a comforting smile.
Abby let's out a breathe she didn't know he was holding and turns towards Clarke.
"I'm - I- He shouldn't have went." Abby says stuttering at first.
Knowing exactly who's she's talking about caller still asks," who?"
"Marcus." Abby says.
Clarke sighs.
"Why you so worried about Kane? You never have been before," Clarke asks wondering why.
Abby sighs once more and breathes.
"If I tell you will you promise not to lash out on me." Abby asks.
Clarke nods.
"Clarke, I - I have- I'm- I have this deep- I have this deep connection with Marcus that I - I can't be away from him to long and I can't stand him being hurt- I'm - I mean- I may be - I think I've fallen inlove with him." Abby stutters nervously and Clarke stares blankly at her. A smile fills Clarkes cheeks at the thought of her mother being inlove again.
"When did you know?" Clarke smile suddenly curious.
Abby smiles to her self.
"About a month ago, we were still looking for you and it was the little thing really- he was desperately wanting to get you back home and when I gave up I asked him why he was still trying- he said because he loved you- you were like the daughter he always wanted and the daughter he never had- and I asked why- he said because you made me happy so that made him happy- then there was a time we all sat around the fire and he kissed my cheek and said we would find you and told me not to worry and trust him- then all the times he let me fall asleep and finish my work, the times he'd bring me my meals, the times I had nightmares he would calm me down and kiss my forehead and snuggle up with me, the times in polis market he smiled and was so happy and fitted with all of this I just knew." Abby says smiling down at her feet and giggling at the funny parts.
Clarke smile at her mothers happiness.
"Have you two ever kissed?" Clarke asked and knew they had by Abby's smile growing at the thought.
"Our last night in the polis celebrations last week, I told him I needed him and he kissed me and said he needed me." Abby smiles.
Clarke smiles at her mother.
"Your not mad are you ?" Abby asks very concerned.
Clarke shakes no.
"I'm happy to see you so happy." Clarke says.
Abby smiles at this and Clarke smiles at her mother.
Abby's smile falls. And she frowns.
"Clarke what if he gets-" Abby cuts herself off with sobs.
"No! Mom he won't I promise." Clarke says hugging her mom.
"I can't do this again, he needs to come home or I - I- I can't live without him anymore." Abby cries into her daughters shoulder.
"You won't have to he'll return with the guard tommorrow." Clarke assures her mother.
