To keep the privacy of others and myself, I will not be using my last name or other people's real names.

Hello, my name is Mikayla Rose. I was born in the Midwest and that is where I still currently live. I just turned 16 and I feel really old. My mom's name is, well I will just call her mom. Mom met my biological father in Canada when she went on a trip at age 20. Let us just call him sperm donor. They both were from the same state. They came back to Michigan and started dating. I was not told a big story of how they met and stuff like that so some details may be incorrect. In December 1999, mom became pregnant with her first child, which was me. Her relationship with sperm donor was rocky and he was mentally abusive. They split 6 months after my birth in August 2000. I then lived with mom and visited sperm donor on some weekends and some holidays, until the middle of elementary school.

The last time I saw sperm donor was in fourth grade and he stopped contacting me and has since had a few kids that he has replaced me with. (note: I was like six when he gave me a new brother and I was still around him a lot). His actions have hurt me a lot and after all this time I hide the fact that I feel unwanted because my own father did not even want me in his life. I was given genetics that contained depression that would be passed on to me, sperm donor kind of sparked it a little. Also my mother had three other kids between 2002-2011. She was married in 2008 to (lets call him...) step father. 2/3 of my siblings were from the two of them and he also brought a step sister into my life. After all this, I am still the oldest kid in the family. After they got married, we moved farther down the state to be closer to step father's job. Which would mean I would be going to another new school district. Until I came to the school district that I am in currently that I have been in since fifth grade, I moved around the state every year for mom's jobs. I went to a different school district every year so mom could support my brother and I. So it would be strange to be in one school district for a long time. I hoped it would be a good change for us. It was a change, but not really a good one for me.

That is enough of my background, let us jump into how I was treated by the school universe. I can just hint to you that it was not sunshine and rainbows.
