"Just a little bit higher.." Sarah said.
Her bare feet scraped against the rough bark of the tree, making her cry out in pain as she extended her hand and reached farther.
"Almost there..." she told herself.
Now she was on her tiptoes, knowing full well if she lost her balance she'd come crashing down.
The brambles below didn't look very comfy, so Sarah pushed away her fear and concentrated on the arrow.
Just a little bit more....
She leaped, thrusting herself upwards, hoping to grasp the stick-like object.
But her hand got nothing but thin air, and Sarah felt a sickening feeling at the bottom of her stomach. Her flailing body sailed down, passed the branches, and landed with a loud thud on the thorn covered ground. The last thing she saw before she blacked out was the skinny arrow, still suspended in the tree...
