Serena POV
I tiptoe quickly to Clarissa's room. She's still awake.
"Serena?" She questions. "Is that you?"
"Yes. And you promised this." I mutter out.
"You were in charge of the explosive arrow, weren't you?" She asks.
"Yes." I reply.
"Good. What's next?"
~~~~~~~
Carmen POV
I awaken, fresh, just like the first time, I was ready. To start the Games.
Breakfast is served as per normal, but I refuse to eat. Sipping water would be an option that I took. Thinking on the dehydration that I could face. That scares me.
Clarissa and I are dressed in a simple black shirt with a cargo green slacks. My hair is braided in a simple three finger braid and the locket is placed over my head. I eat strawberries before it's time to say goodbye. Serena kisses me on the cheek and mutters,
"Get in there. Good Luck, Carmen. Give them a good show."
I give Serena a last hug before I grab my bow and my two quivers of arrows. I get the backpack with the supplies and my explosive arrow. With those, I slowly step into the tube. With my head held high, the platform rises up. Slowly I see Serena's face face from my view. As I see the arena, my face lights up.
I feel it. The tracker jackers. The wild mutts. Everything. This is my arena. This is my zone. This is the forbidden woods.
As my face lights up, I hear Claudius Templesmith's voice boom through the arena.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, May the 100th Hunger Games begin!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The countdown begins. I look at the middle of all platforms to see nothing. Isn't there supposed to be a cornucopia?
At 1, I dash towards the trees. This is what I know. To survive. However, I don't see Crystal. All I see is Clarissa, loaded with her archer set.
"Carmen! Have you seen...." She starts.
"No. I can't find Ashley or Crystal." I reply.
"Crystal and Ashley are armed with weapons of their choice right?" Clarissa starts.
"Yes. It should keep them alive for now. The Capitol hasn't informed us if there is or isn't a Cornucopia. We should find it. Immediately." I reply.
"Water is essential, Carmen. We are still human." Clarissa retorts.
We travel through the woods. Unfortunately, it isn't all perfect. The woods isn't the one at District Twelve. It might as well be a Capitol one. The mutts are triggered at designated places that we tend to avoid. Water sources are no where to be found. We hike before I see it. Majestic as ever, it stands right there. The light reflects on it. Beautiful. It's the Cornucopia.
Clarissa races there. Just as that happens, a silver knife flies through the air.....
~~~~~~~~~
Crystal POV
I stand by myself. There is no one next to me as I'm lifted up. There is only my received backpack, my dozen knives and two beautiful swords.
Water is essential right now. The backpack contains enough food to keep me stocked up. But there is nothing that will last me even three days without water.
I hike, following the green trees, in hopes of finding a water source. However, water seems non-existent.
Thirst overwhelms me. However, I continue on. The biggest regret I have is not lapping water before this.
I see something special though. It looks similar to the first Games. With weapons of all kinds. With food lined up at your feet. It is the Cornucopia.
I stock up with one more sword and five more knives. Just for Clarissa and Carmen, I get a gold bow. For good measure, I take a weaved net and a trident for Ashley.
Just then, I hear stomping from my right. My hand instinctively goes to my silver knives on my knife belt.
A knife flies from my hands to my right and I hear,
"Clarissa!"
~~~~~~~~~~
Carmen POV
The knife soars right onto Clarissa's arm. Clarissa yelps in pain as words flutter from my mouth.
"Clarissa!"
Please be okay. Please.
I hear footsteps and load up my bow. I raise it. Just as I'm about to release, I see familiar grey eyes.
"Carmen?" She asks. It's Crystal.
I lower my bow.
"Yes. It's me." I say.
"I found you! Have you seen..." Crystal starts.
"No." I say calmly.
"Don't tell me that my knife..." She starts.
"You shot that silver knife?" I ask in rage.
"Yes. Thought it was a fellow enemy." She says calmly.
"And," She continues. "this is yours. It was supposed to be for Clarissa. But she won't be shooting many arrows."
I receive the most beautiful golden bow. Just as I'm admiring it, I see Crystal sitting right next to Clarissa.
"Get the bandages. Search through my pack. It should be there." Clarissa mutters.
"Okay.... I'll.... Okay...." Crystal stammers. She digs through to find the first aid kit. Grabbing the bandages, she decides to layer them on. At the same time, I guard with my original bow and arrows.Clarissa instructs pretty well. However, the knife wound is pretty deep. Clarissa needs the disinfecting cream or a stream to clean the wound thoroughly first. However, in the Games, we don't have these things.
We move though, ever so slowly, careful not to encounter tributes along the way. If we did, they might overpower us. With a injured Clarissa and Crystal and I carrying weapons and supplies, its hard to go into combat like that. At times, Clarissa doubts herself. Conversations on the the archer sets go on frequently.
Just as we stop for a rest break, another one starts.
"Carmen," Clarissa starts.
"Don't" I cut off, but her words still do.
"Let's just say that these three bows are all yours."

OKAY. THIS IS A TERRIBLE ENDING... BUT I'M SORRY! I WANT TO PUBLISH THIS CHAPTER SO BADLY!
