Why me?

Chapter 1

Well it all starts on this one night I went to church... it was a normal night...  We were in revival.. And I know I should've been listening to the preacher.... But I was enchanted by the preachers son! He was so cute! He had jet black hair, dark brown eyes, with white skin... He was watching his dad... And I was watching him... Not in the creepy stalker kinda way... But... Well girls you know the envious way!.. The sad thing was... After this service.. Revival is over... And he's leaving... And I have barely even talked to him... Which really sucks!! Cause he's the cutest guy I have seen!! " please stand" says the preacher knocking me out of my thoughts... My heart sinks as I once again realize this will be the last time I will ever see him... When service ends my friend comes over and says "hey" "hi" I say keeping my eyes on him... He walks out of the church... And wasn't long before my friend and I were following him! She sang "following the cute guy.." In a really low voice. I said " shut up.. We just happen to be going the same place he is..." She didn't seem to buy it. Which isn't surprising considering it was a lie! I wanted to talk to him... And to do that I have to be close to him.. Finally I saw him standing out by a car. He looked like he was loading bags into his car... That really sucks!! I told my friend that i would see her tomorrow and give her the details! I ran up to him and said the first thing that came to my mind.. Which of course was "Hey!" He said "Hey?" In a questioning voice... I was like "what's up?" He said "Packing to leave.." I said "aww leaving so soon?" He shook his head... I said "well we're gonna miss you!" He said "we're gonna miss the church.. It was fun!.." He didn't sound too believable but whatever! After that I let him go... And I started mentally kicking myself on the way home. For  not getting his number! Like seriously! He was right there! Close enough to touch even! And I forget to ask for his number! Ok... Maybe I was a little scared and that has a little something to do why I didn't ask 2... But still.. I should've! When I got home I quickly went to my room and wrote in my diary about what had happened during the day...
"Ring" went my alarm. I groan and get up for another day of boring school! As I'm getting dressed I hear my mother say " Elizabeth hurry your gonna miss the bus!" "Ok mom almost ready!" I yell as I grab my backpack and head out the door to catch my bus. My bus ride is pretty boring until my best friend shows up... The minute she gets on the bus she says " How did it go? Did u get his number?" I sighed and said "no! I'm such a failure!" She sighed and said "should've let me ask for his number I would've gotten it!" I just rolled my eyes... "Ding" goes the tardy bell we both hurry up and head to science class. When we get there the teacher says "As you should know there's gonna be a meteor shower tonight!" All the kids either sigh or roll their eyes. He continues by saying "Yes I know your all very excited!" He says sarcastically. "And you should be!" He says no longer joking. "Because this is no ordinary meteor shower! Weird things are said to happen in this night. Weird, strange, unexplainable things!" "I highly recommend my class watch this! Extra credit if you do!" "Just take a picture of the sky and show it to me tomorrow!" This kind of intrigued me but as soon as the feeling had came it had left! By the time the final bell had rung. I was so ready to leave! Whenever I got off the bus my mom was setting up a telescope outside. "Getting ready for the meteor shower tonight?" "Yup! Gonna watch it with me?" As She said this you could see the hope shining in her eyes! So I thought why not? I mean I get extra credit plus I'm making my mom happy. And I kinda wanted to see it anyways so why not? "yah mom I'd love to!" She smiled and said "great can't wait!" So I head inside to get ready for tonight. By the time I come out my mom has everything ready for tonight. And then before you know it... It's dark outside! And the meteor is about to start!
It was so pretty! But I didn't feel anything weird, strange, and unexplainable!" But still it was very pretty! And I got my picture! When it ended it was almost 12:00 so I tell my mom goodnight. Then head to bed.
"Ring" I woke up to my alarm clock again. When I headed to school I handed in my picture. The science teacher seemed pretty impressed. He smiled as he said "glad to see you took my advice! What did you think of it?" "I thought it was very pretty. But I didn't feel anything weird or magical happen.." He frowned and said "well the experience is what matters!" After that I went and sat at my desk. Class was pretty boring after that! So you can imagine my excitement when the final bell rang signaling class was officially over finally! When I got home I had to get ready for church. So when I got home I got dressed in my church clothes and waited for my mom to get home. When she finally came in she said she had to get ready so I decided to make myself a sandwich for supper before we left. When I was finished I hear my mom say "c'mon time to go before we're late!" I yell out "coming!" As I'm heading out the door
When we get there everything seems normal.. Until the assistant preacher stands up and says "We are sorry to inform you that your preacher isn't here tonight because there was a tragic accident having to do with the Garrison family!" My heart dropped. No please let Jace be ok! "They got into a really bad car accident. The preacher and his wife are in intensive care.. But they're son died instantly... So please let's pray for the Garrison family." After we finished praying. He told us we could go to the Jaxon hospital if we wanted to see the family. And that they will keep us posted on when Jace's funeral was. After service my mom said "I'm gonna go see them tomorrow. Wanna come?" I nodded my head and she said "alright I will pick you up after school tomorrow. So don't ride the bus." After that Claire (My best friend) said "Can you believe how fast things change? One day your preaching and trying to help people.. And then next your family is the one in chaos!" I just nodded I was still in shock from the news itself. We really didn't talk much.. I didn't feel like talking.. I kept thinking about how he will never grow up, Get married, have kids.. It made me start crying.. But I held it in... Let's just say that as soon as I got home I never thought I would stop crying and I fell in and out of sleep.
I woke up that morning before my alarm went off.. I didn't really feel like going to school but I got dressed anyway. I mean nobody really knew I liked him. Besides Claire of course! That's Why I Am sitting in the church asking him how he could take someone so young away. Because as soon as she got to school she wouldn't stop asking me questions about him, and how I felt... I know she was just trying to help because she's my best friend, but my sadness got the best of me and I yelled at her to leave me alone. I know I hurt her feelings and it wasn't her fault but I just wanted the hurt to go away... But it wasn't... And being alone doesn't help one bit... It was quiet in the church no one was around thank god! "Can you help me?" So much for that I thought. I didn't feel like turning around so I just said "I don't know? What do you need help with?" I said it through gritted teeth but I don't think it came out mean. And if it did he didn't let on. He just said "You can hear me?" This completely annoyed me like seriously!?! "Of course I can hear you I'm not death!" I got up to walk out. Then he said "No please don't leave I didn't mean for that to come out rude I  don't remember anything from yesterday, nobody will listen to me, and I can't find my family... Could you please help me?" With that I finally turned around and was completely shocked at who was standing right in front of me!
