Sadie's P.O.V.
(Sadie drives a black Range Rover, but this is the position that the car is in *see above*
*Knock knock*
"Knoah, do you want breakfast?"
"Yes please." he responds through the pillows that were piled over his face.
"What do you want?"
"Potatoes and sausage?"
"Of course." I roll my eyes and we laugh. That is all he has eaten since he was five. He's fifteen.
I walk downstairs and make my way to the fridge. When I open the door, I noticed the Janice, our foster mom, didn't go shopping. But when does she? I sigh and run back upstairs.
"Janice hasn't gone to the store so I'm gonna run to Whole Foods and grab some stuff."
"Ok..." he says.
I run back down stairs and grab my keys off of the counter. Before I walk out the door, I turn on the deep fryer and alert Knoah that it is on and that if I'm not back in 30 minutes that he has to turn it off.
Then I run out of the door so I could get back as soon as possible.
~20 Minutes Later~
"...SO BABY PULL ME CLOSER IN THE BACKSEAT OF YOUR ROVER. THAT I KNOW YOU CAN'T AFFORD, BITE THAT TATTOO ON YOUR SHOULDER..."
The music blared out of my speakers and poured out of my open windows. I had been driving on the highway for almost 20 minutes because I missed the exit, like a total dumb-ass. The next exit was 10 minutes away. I missed that one too. So I'm driving around and I finally get off of the next exit and I find myself in a town that is vaguely familiar to me. Then it hits me. This was the neighborhood that I grew up in. Before foster care and before my mom died. This was my good place.
I change the radio station and find myself listening to a song that I had never heard before. The beginning started out as some guy humming. Then he starts talking about the power that some chick has over him and how small she makes him feel. I decide to snapchat the song and send it to my friend McKinley because she knows every song ever made from the 2000's - on.
She responds in less than the time it took me to make the video.
"How do you not know who that was!!!" She responds.
"Ummm. sorry?" I say back.
I come to a stop light and take my eyes off of the road to focus on messaging her back.
"THATS SHAWN MENDES YOU DIPWAD!!!"
"Well then. Whats it called I like it."
"MERCY!!! It just came out 4 days ago. I CANT BELEVE IT'S ON THE RADIO ALREADY!!!"
The light turns green and I set my phone down and reach for the volume dial and turn it up a bit.
I ween my foot off of the brake and slowly move it to the gas pedal. I accelerate and as I begin to pass the center of the intersection I feel pressure on my entire right side. I find myself not being able to move. You know when you are on a roller coaster that has like 12 loops back-to-back. Well, thats what it felt like. But less fun. It was bump after bump after bump, on top and underneath me. My stomach started to drop and then I feel a big thud. Bigger that the others. Then I felt like I was flying, and boom. I hit the ground. Or what I was hoping was the ground.I feel a pounding in my head. Like a person is trapped and is trying to throw themselves through a door. I must have hit my head because all I saw, heard, felt, was black.
