Kenzie:

Kenzie woke up surrounded by mist. She blinked the sleep out of her eyes and sat up. The mist was warm around her. Enveloping her like a warm blanket. It glowed with faint colors of pink and lavender.

Although she was a bit of a tomboy, pink was always her favorite color. Her head felt full, but a good full. As if she was in charge of this new, mist filled world.

Her hair and her entire body felt weightless. She smiled as she felt herself float up into the air. All of her cares flew away with the gentle breeze in the pink valley. Then suddenly the temperature dropped. The entire valley grew dark, as if all the pink color was drained out of it. Kenzie felt heavy and collapsed from the air. She hit the floor and looked up at the sky.

The sky seemed to be shrouded in darkness. Thunder boomed across the once pink valley. And dark purple lightning erupted from the sky.

The once warm breeze turned into a cold, savage storm. Icy raindrops fell from the dark sky, and splattered onto the even darker land.

She felt safe here, and suddenly it was all taken away. She stood up and clenched her fists. She wasn't gonna let this happen. Not here. Kenzie couldn't explain it, but she felt attached to this place. It made her feel warm, bu this storm...

Suddenly, Kenzie was filled with warmth, just as she felt earlier here. A bright pink light seemed to fill the valley. Kenzie looked around for the source, but couldn't find it.

She then looked down and realized that the light was coming from her. Her entire body seemed to glow with pink brilliance. She looked up at the sky and watched as the darkness seemed to retreat.

The icy rain stopped falling, and the thunder no longer rang. At Kenzie's fert, the bright pink color seemed to spread across the kand again.

It was amazing, as if life itself was being given back to the land. The sky cleared as the last of the land was brightened. Kenzie could feel the light within her, this strange sensation. It felt like drinking something hot on a cold day. The warm liquid sitting in your belly.

She smiled and felt herself float again, but this time, Kenzie could control herself. She lifted herself higher into the air. Past the fluffy pink clouds that smelled oddly like cotton candy, past the baby pink sky, and straight into nothingness.

Kenzie had never felt more alive. Then as if out of nowhere, she felt herself begin to fall out of the sky.

Kenzie shot up and gasped as she tried to get a hold on reality. She looked around the room, but there was no pink valley, no dark sky and not even one cotton candy cloud. Instead there were file cabinets, desks and chairs. The air was cold and smelled faintly of metal. "This isn't a beautiful valley," she said aloud.

She looked down at her makeshift bed. It was actually a mat ontop of a long desk. Her pillow was actually a sack full of shredded folder paper.

"No? Really?" someone said next to Kenzie. She turned her head and was faced by a blonde woman. Her bleached blonde hair was beautiful and fell in long curls. Then Kenzie got a look at her face and almost fell off her makeshift bed.

"Teah?" Kenzie asked. It was Teah. The only difference being the blonde hair and slightly paler skin. "What's up with your hair?"

She rolled her eyes and shook her head, "Oh you know. Just got back from the salon."

"What?" Kenzie asked confusingly.

"Nevermind," Teah said. "There's a lot that I gotta tell you, so sit back and relax."
