I watch as he jumps back and forward on his toes. I calculate his next moves in my head and how I can proceed with this dumbass.

The shit and his father, Alpha Rhodes, came to woe me. I still haven't met my mate at the age of 18 and some people are saying he has probably died. Many Alpha's have come with their dipshit children to get me to marry into their packs.

I mean who wouldn't want a treaty with the best packs favorite daughter. My father was Alpha.

Me? I'm the best damn warrior there is.

He swings his fist at my left cheek. I duck down and grab his arm before dropping down on my back and bringing my feet to his chest as I flip him over me and onto his back all while still holding his arm. I twist his arm awkwardly and hear the snap before he hits the ground with a clenched fist and taps out.

My father's laughter booms over his cries of pain as I stand and dust the dirt from my jeans, looking up at my father who beams proudly at me before patting Alpha Rhodes on the shoulder and walking back into the house.

"Who belongs in the kitchen now?" I whisper dangerously low to Ethan on the ground; him clutching his shoulder and whimpering at my tone.

The dick had the audacity to tell my father that when, WHEN, he takes me as his wife he will teach me that a woman's place is in the kitchen and not on the battlefield. My mother nodded in agreement but my fist slamming on the table and me challenging him made my fathers eyes alight with amusement.

"Pussy." I mock and stride passed the scowling Alpha. "Your son needs to work on his manners or else a girl other than me is gonna hand him his ass on a golden platter." I smirk when he shivers with fear from my whispered words. I pull away and shoot him an amused wink before following my father back into the pack house.

I sit in my room on the window sill, a book in hand and my glasses perched on the bridge of my nose. I laugh at what is happening in the book as I see it happening in my head.

"Now, now," A voice startles me, "I know I'm funny but come on." Olivia is leaning against my now open door.

"Olive!" I squeal and jump up tackling her into the floor. She laughs but groans, shoving me off.

"Cat!" She hugs me from the side and I giggle.

Olive has been my best friend since she was the beta's daughter. We were born exactly one month away from each other. She was the shopping and gossip lover while I was the reserved quiet but tough girl. We were both really fucking intimidating and were badass in battle. She just doesn't enjoy the fight as much as I do so, I tend to out do her in some training categories.

"How was mate hunting?" I raise my eyebrows dramatically while holding my hands out. I look around and frown when I see no male with her.

She looks at me blankly before a smile graces her lips and a spark appears in her eyes.

"I found him." She whispers and I shoot up from my spot on the floor and jump up and down like a little kid who was told he would get a present.

"Holy mother of fucking god. Shit! Crap!" I furrow my eyebrows. "I need to come up with my intimidation speech." I look around my room and when my eyes fall on a bright red Olive I just can't help but smile. She's laughing so hard that no sound is coming out of her as she lays on her side in the doorway and clutches her stomach.

I sit on my bed as I impatiently wait for hr to catch her breath so I can bombard her with questions. When she finally sits up and runs her fingers through her hair chuckling lightly I finally let out a slur of my questions until I catch my breath. I shake my head when I realise they weren't audible.

"Where is he?" I look at her expectantly and a sad look crosses her facial features.

"He is coming in three days time with his Alpha and a couple servants." She shrugs trying not to look upset. I figure it's best to keep her mind off of her absent mate.

"Do you wanna go knife throwing." I cock an eyebrow when her eyes light up.

"Aw meh god!" She stands from the ground squealing. "Xander won't even let me next to a butter knife out of fear i'll get hurt." She growls in frustration and I growl as well.

"Well," I give her my famous mischievous grin, " We'll just have to prove that it should be other people afraid to be hurt with you around a knife." She beams at me and we race down the stairs.

We practiced for hours. I was doing pull-ups when Joshua, Olive's brother, came strolling in. He whistled at me as he eyed me appreciatively and I let go of the bar with one hand but don't lose my rhythm as I continue with my pull ups. I flip him off while continuing and my father walks in he chuckles at what he sees and I send him a smile before dropping from the bar and walking over to where my father stands with a water bottle.

I take the water bottle from his outstretched hand, he starts talking as I greedily gulp the water down my parched throat.

"So, I arranged the marriage." He watches me cautiously and I choke on my water before spewing it out and on him.

"You. Did. What?!" I raise my voice and he cringes.

"I arranged a marriage between Sam and Lily." He looks away from me.

"What the fack is wrong with you dad?" I sigh and run my hands through my hair, "We have mates for a damn reason." I growl at him and his lowers his head at my tone. You see, my father and I are equals but when I yell, it means he fucked up big time, and he knows it.

"B-but." He stammers trying and searching for a reason that helps his case.

"They are 16." I state and glare at him. "They have just started the look for their mates." I growl and turn away from him. "Fix it. Emit the arrangement as a mistake and have the kids meet me in my office. You have to stop this before I have to step in." I send him a disappointed look before turning away and going to my office with Olive trailing close behind.

"You." She sighs happily. "I can't wait for you to be Alpha, you'll be even better than your dad and even he knows it." She giggles at the last pat and I shoot her an amused look before taking a seat at my desk. She would have been my beta if she hadn't found her mate to be a beta. Now she must move to his pack and I have to deal with her flirty brother as my beta instead.

Fuck life.

She takes a stance at my right side as Sam and Lily come through the doors of my office. They keep their distance and Lily has a tear streaked face while Sam looks annoyed.

"I already stopped the marriage." I admit and both of them brighten slightly. "You will be having to look more excessively for your mates to keep your parents off your backs though." I smile slightly when the both hug each other and apologise.

Sam and Lily have been bestfriends for ever but they don't like each other in a romantic way.

"You are dismissed." I wave a hand at them and they bow their heads in respect before racing out of my office to celebrate.

I chuckle to myself at their friendship and star to do paper work.
