For Now or Forever

The Dream

(Loud alarm ringing) "Sam don't you hear that alarm everyone needs to get out a fire started in the chemistry lab!" "I know Mrs. Becky i just need to find Alex!" "I'm sure Alex got out fine you need to do the same!" After one last glance around Sam agrees to leave. As Sam runs for the door a part of the ceiling falls trapping Sam under it. while trying to get out Sam sees Alex down the hall and begins the yell for help. Alex hears the yells and walks in the direction they are coming from and finds Sam on the ground asking for help. "Thank God Alex I was looking all over for you when i got trapped you have to help me get out." Despite Sam's pleas for help Alex just stares forward. "I'm sorry Sam I know we always said we were gonna be together forever but i just cant stay here anymore, your plans may have been to grow up, settle down, and die all in this town but i just can't do it i love you and I always will but this is good bye." Alex turns toward the exit and walks away Sam in tears yelling for Alex to come back as the flames spread and engulf everything Sam included.

Sam sits up breathing heavy and in a panic still hearing the loud ringing. After taking a minute to calm down Sam realized that not only was there no fire but that someone else was in the room. A quick glances to the side surprises Sam as a laughing Alex pops up from the floor holding a phone blasting its alarm. The sudden surprise right after waking up was enough to send Sam jumping out of bed and landing hard on the floor only making Alex laugh harder. After a little bit Alex notices that Sam hasn't gotten up and still looks very panicked. "Oh my God Sam are you alright i didn't mean to freak you out that much." While Alex believes Sam is still recovering from this mornings wake up call Sam was really still just in shock from the nightmare that came prior to waking up but it wasn't the fire that really had Sam worried it was what Alex had said in the dream. Looking up at Alex Sam begins to calm down. "Of course Alex would never abandon me we have been friend our entire lives and this past year we finally became more when we confessed our secret feelings for each other out of all this time why would Alex suddenly want to leave me now." As Alex continues to worry Sam starts to laugh confusing Alex. "Don't worry im fine you just caught me after a really weird dream." "Really what happened." "Well we were at school and a fire broke out and i got trapped while trying to find you but after getting trapped you showed up right in front of me." "Wait let me guess i saved you from the fire and carried you out of the school in my arms." This got Sam to laugh a little before continuing with the story. "Actually you refused to help me." "What?!" "It was just a dream i'd never actually expect you to do that but yea you told me you weren't going to help me and that you didn't want to stay in this town anymore, crazy right." Sam laughed a little but Alex made a worried face before forcing out a small chuckle. Sam finished laughing and turned to Alex. "I love waking up next to you and everything but why are you here." Alex faked a hurt expression. "I cant believe it did you forget we had a date planned for today." Sam was confused for a minute but then remembered canceling their date this Saturday. While saying this Sam climbed back in bed. "Alex I think your confused i told you i just wanted to sleep today." Alex dropped the hurt expression and smiled. "I'm not confused you said you wanted to sleep late today and since we had a date today i figured i'd just come join you." They both smiled Sam opened the blanket as an invitation which Alex happily accepted, after climbing into the bed Alex wrapped an arm around Sam so they could be close and comfortable as they fell asleep.
