That place

I'm in that place,

Time to move forward,

Feeling at ease,

Drying my tears,

Picking myself up,

from this cold floor,

Thoughts still linger,

Memories and distress,

Scared....

Of what the future brings,

maybe another heart break,

New love,

But I'm in that place,

I'm ready to feel lively,

To see what my future holds,

Finishing my dreams,

Doing me and my children,

a new life,

Maybe with someone new,

I see the light,

As I raise myself,

from this brisk ground,

I sense the warmth on my skin,

The strength it has taken me to slowly lift myself,

Not quite all there but not on that bitter ground,

I'm in that place.
