I'm Lauryn Carson, I'm 17 and here's a little history about my past. When I was 13 my parents died. They went out to dinner on their anniversary and on the drive back home they got in a car crash with a drunk driver. My mom died on the spot and my dad was rushed to the hospital and died later that night.
My parents owned a couple businesses so they had quite a bit of money. When they died our house was taken away and their remaining money was put in a savings account that I wouldn't have access to until I'm 20. So now I'm living with my grandparents who, let's say, aren't the wealthiest people in town.
Living with my grandparents isn't terrible. I love them to death. It's just I go to a private school that cost a ton of money just for a year and I have to pay for the last year that I'm there. My grandma has helped me pay as much as she could but I couldn't ask her to pay the whole thing. It's far too much for just one person.
I've been helping them out with paying for my school. I have a job at a high end grocery store. During the school year I work part time and during the summer I work full time. I save all my money. It goes straight to my bank account and is only taken out when I'm paying for school.
But before that night my life was perfect. I couldn't ask for anything better. I was bestfriends with Ethan Dolan and his twin brother Grayson. The Dolan family is well known in California and are one of the top richest families in our town, Beverly Hills. The twins only hang out with other rich kids so once I lost my house and money they stopped talking to me completely. So now I only have one amazing friend, Sophia Parker. I would not trade her for the world.
I'm going into senior year. I'm hoping it's a great year and that all the hard work is worth it.
