Chapter One

"Mellllooo," Matt says

"Maaatttt," I say back.

"Can you get me my DS?"

"Matt you're thirteen get it your self,"

"No,"

"Fine but you owe me chocolate," I say and retrieve his DS from the mantle and handing to him.

"Can't, Roger won't let us go to town by ourselves thanks to you," he says taking it and turning it on.

"It wasn't my fault Near fell down the stairs," I say smiling cheekily.

"Only he didn't fall..." Matt starts to say adjusting his goggles on his head.

"Shut up he fell!" I say covering his mouth.

"Mell stop!" He says my hand muffling his voice.

"Oh come on you love it," I say taking it off.

"I do not," he says continuing his game.

"Hey" I say excitingly bouncing on his bed.

"What?" He asks shutting off his game after dying.

"You and me are In the top three highest scoring kids at Wammy's" I say hugging him.

"You, me and Near are," he says sadly.

"Ugh don't remind me," I lay down on my back. "I don't have a chance to be L with Near in the competition" I sigh Matt climbs atop me.

"Don't worry I'll love you even if you aren't the new L." He says kissing my nose. "And anyway you would be M."

"You're an idiot," I say and kiss him back

"But you love me." Matt replies.

"If I'm not interrupting anything," I look to the door and see Near.

"What do you want Nathan?" I ask pushing Matt off and sitting up.

"Roger would like to see us all." He says and walks out.

"Who have you killed now?" Matt jokes.

"I haven't killed anyone." I say and push him off the bed with my foot. He hits the floor with a thud.

"Owie," he whines and stands up.

"Sorry Mattie," I smile.

"You will be," he says and pecks my lips before pulling his goggles over his eyes.

"Oh okay." I say and walk out and he follows me. I put my arm around his shoulder and he puts his around my waist. People stare but nether of us care. Everyone knows that we're a thing. I kiss his cheek.

"You're so gay," he says jokingly.
