I awoke to the smell of fresh pancakes being made downstairs. I breathed in and out as I laid down in the comfort of my bed on this nice Saturday morning. I heard a scream being yelled out at me from downstairs.
"Alyce, come get your-" The rest of her words were muffled.
"Mom, please stop yelling I am trying to sleep." I yelled back at her.
"Come get your book sack or you will be late!" I heard her words clear as daylight this time. I shot up right out of my bed. That was when I suddenly realized it was not in fact Saturday, I realized I slept in for school on
Friday.
"Oh shit." I turned on my phone to check the time. But then I realized that my phone wasn't working. "Dammit, ugh." I sighed as I hurried to put on some clothes. I threw on some leggings with a long sleeve comfy navy shirt and my white converse. I walked past my bathroom and looked at my reflection really quick. "This will have to do." I shrugged, no time for makeup, screw that bullshit. I brushed my hair out and threw it in a half up half down with the pink scrunchy on my hand.
I rushed downstairs and grabbed my bookcase and my car keys. I also grabbed an apple on the way out.
"But what about these pancakes? They aren't gonna stay warm forever." My mom said.
"You said it yourself, I am gonna be late." I rushed out the door, then I sprinted back. "Bye love you." I kissed my mom's cheek.
"Love you too baby. Make it a ten." She smiled.
"Alright, bye." I hustled out the kitchen in a matter of seconds.

I sighed when the school day ended. "Today was a nightmare." I told Katherine as she put away books into her locker.
"Tell me about it." She picked up her booksack off the floor and threw it on her shoulders.
Her phone buzzed along with everyone else's in the hall, reminding me of my broken phone that is sitting in rice at this very minute. Causing me to roll my eyes at my own clusminess.
"Party tonight, you in?" Katherine nudged me out of my daze.
"Huh? Maybe where at?" I answered quickly.
"Libby Willson's house, 8:00 o' clock." Chris snuck up behind me.
"Shit, Chris. Don't do that!" I jumped out of my skin.
"I do whatever I want. It's funny." He laughed.
"Shut up jerk." I grinned, okay it is kind of funny, but I REFUSE to admit that.
"Chris, are you going?" Katherine looked up at him.
That was the first time I think she ever talked to him. Chris and I exchanged glances. "Um yeah, I might..Why?"
"I don't know, if Ally isn't going. I didn't want to go alone." Katherine said soft spokingly.
"I have an idea! Y'all should go together! And I should bring Tyler!" I smiled. Chris gave me a glare, but I ignored it. Katherine looked happy.
"That sounds fun!" Katherine announced.
"Yeah. It does. Alice, can I talk to you for a sec?" He looked like he was about to lose an eye.
"Sure." He pulled me by my wrist in front of my homeroom teacher's class, away from Katherine.
"Alyce, what are you thinking? I barely know her. That would be so awkward!" He was furious with me.
"Chris, calm down. First of all, you have nothing to be mad about. She is my friend, so she is yours. too. Second of all, this is when you could get to know her, I think she likes you." I hinted.
