James Carter born February 7, 1987 to Franklin and Rose Carter, an Electrical Engineer and Art teacher. The second child of a second marriage he acted out while his older siblings went on to become very important people. He was left by the wayside, to his own devices, climbed in with the wrong crowd. Climbed heights and reached the ocean, until he was locked away. Locked away for a petty crime, still in the prime of his life. His parents did visit at first and even his brothers. They would offer unwanted tips gleamed from gritty television dramas such as not dropping a bar of soap and knocking out the biggest guy in the room.

Little did he know it, but his days had been numbered. A few months earlier, due to poor living conditions and indifferent management. A number of inmates died, there was no official inquiry until days later a prison riot brought the attention of the State 's Attorney General, she had concluded due to existing management policy a number of incarcerated were given substandard care, that their deaths could have been prevented and shoddy document keeping meant more lives had been endangered and there seemed to be inmates unaccounted or appearing out of nowhere according to records. Bottom line the facility was closing down and they should be moving to a facility with better care. The day before the move there was an unexplained prison fire. James Carter, along with 38 others had been killed.

James Carter had died.

There was a small ceremony. His parents, his older brothers, an ex who still kept in touch with the family. None of the criminal cohorts he fell in with. It was a closed casket, the fire had charred the thirty nine bodies and dental records were the only way to identify the bodies. Dental records could be faked and bodies staged. And James Carter had been drugged and shipped off with the other supposedly dead inmates. They were moved to a newer better facility, but their days were not spent singing songs of their previous hell nor setting bets on who could bench the most that day. No their days were spent enjoying their new hellhole.

James Carter had died.

No one had been the wiser. No one had questioned why. The Attorney General slapped some fines and the case was close.

Patient DZ-3: July 12th 2009
This was his new patient identification code. It made it easy to tell them apart. Not that they looked the same. Or that there were many test subjects left. Call it a leftover of the bureaucracy in the hearts. To their loved ones they were six feet under. To the Lithi corporation, they were the beginning of a new frontier. Human testing banned under the Geneva convention and every major industrial power, they were on the cusp of discovery whose reward world be in the untold billions, operating a jail was secondary their goal was expanding their catalogue of genetic material to find a compatible specimen for their double secret cocktail.
