-What is this smell? asked Dad. -It's just the wind blowing in your direction, honey, -replied Mum.
DOES BRIAN CARE? Definitely not, but should he?
Brian Brown Bear doesn't want to bathe, brush his teeth or wash his hands. He is only interested in watching his favourite TV programs and playing with his toys.
His odour is not going unnoticed, though, and it is attracting unwelcome visitors during the night. Critters who leave a mysterious and strange stench in the air surrounding the home.
Brian will have to sort things out, and quickly. He may even have to take a bath or a few.
Brian Brown Bear and the Strange Horrid Smell
By Edinaldo E. Santo
When I was a child I had a teddy bear.
His name was Brian Brown.
He told me many stories about his life.
This is the first story he ever told me.
I would like to share it with you.

“Have you brushed your teeth, Brian Brown?” asked Mum in the morning.
“No, I haven’t,” answered Brian, running for his delicious breakfast.
“One day you will find big black holes in them,” said Mum.
“No, I won’t,” replied Brian, with his mouth already full of cereals.
“Have you had a shower, Brian Brown?” asked Mum in the afternoon.
“No, I haven’t,” answered Brian, playing in the garden.
“One day you will find a big bug on your body,” said Mum.
“No, I won’t,” replied Brian, busy with his toys.
“Have you washed your hands, Brian Brown?” asked Mum, just before dinner.
“No, I haven’t,” answered Brian, looking at his dirty fingers.
“One day you will find worms crawling on your palms,” said Mum.
“No, I won’t,” replied Brian, watching TV.
“Have you at least cleaned your nails, Brian Brown?” asked Mum at the table.
“No, I haven’t,” answered Brian, indifferent.
“One day you will find carrots growing under them,” said Mum.
“No, I will not,” replied Brian, with emphasis on not.
