Fern
I wait for Binky to come by,
When I see him I'm going to say 'hi,'
I don't see him yet,
I need his help to get out of this rhyming net.
Now I see him,
He will help me to get out of this world of my rhyming grim.
"Hey Binky!" I called out. "Can you help me?"
I walked over to him as he parked his bike.
"I'm having trouble not rhyming, whatever I say becomes a rhyme in good timing."
"Just think of a word that doesn't have a rhyme, that will sure help to get out of the Prison of Poetry. Like the the word orange or month."
I see Arthur passing by, and Binky looks at him.
"Or Arthur."
"Huh?" Arthur says. "What about me?"
"Nothing rhymes with your name, Fern is having trouble being in Poetry Prison."
I never thought of it like that exactly, then I imagine it:
Vine wrapped around the bars, with leaves and vicious thorns. I'm wearing a brown bonet and and gray dress. There wasn't anything else I could imagine besides that. It could make a great story. I should remember it so I can write it down later for a possible idea.
"Hello my friend Arthur, isn't this day so...um."
"See? You're free," said Bink excitedly.
"Wait a second, I need to think."
"Fern," said Arthur. "You're free now. You're not rhyming anymore."
"I know, I guess I am," I smiled and I thank Binky.
And the three of us head inside to another year at school, completely Poetry Prison free. Thank goodness.
Brain
I'm worried this will be too easy. I know how to make rocket fuel, and I know a lot of other things as well, like make robots, and an evil one that went out of control in my room once. I need to remember to take it about soon, but what if I need?
"Excuse me," I turn to see a girl that looks kind of like George. "Do you know where to go?"
"Uh...I think we go to our old classrooms first."
"But where do you go when your new?"
"I guess you go to the cafeteria, where the new kindergarteners go."
"Can you show me?"
"Sure, I'm Alan. But my friends call me Brain."
"Cool, my name is Lucia."
D.W. and Emily
D.W.: Well, this is it.
Emily: A new world. I hope it isn't scary.
D.W.: It won't be. All of it will be easy and fun.
Emily: But didn't your brother Arthur say it's hard.
D.W.: That's because he's not as smart as us. We will ace this school before we will even begin.
