Heartless

I laid on the ground, blood dribbling past my lips and escaping from the wounds decorating my torso. She laughed as she walked away from my dying body; her silhouette growing smaller and smaller.

For some reason I didn't die, not just yet. I guess that the shock of it all caused a slight delay reaction but that was enough for my tables to turn.

I was prepared to give it all up and leave my family behind, to die and move on to the other side. But that's when I heard it, a little voice in the back of my head that made me think I was crazy.   

"Do you wish to live?" It asked,that wasn't even a question, "Answer the question."

"Of course!" I responded. The blood loss was taking a toll on me, my vision was getting blurry.

"Then so let it be." The voice responded. It was getting smaller and smaller as the darkness began to fully consume me and right before I lost myself completely I felt a pair of hands on my chest. Then I lost myself.
