Chapter 8: Invitation

---10 years later--- 

Maromago is a city not far from Noviomagnus, and at the border of the city, there's a little wooden house. If you were to ask any resident of Maromago they would know of two young kids came to the city 10 years ago requesting for wood, and with the help of the residents they built a comfortable little wooden house at the border. The young men, who were kids at that time, said that it's very convenient to go and hunt while having pretty easy access to the city. At the rise of dawn, the door opened and a young man walked out. "I'm going Kori!" He shouted into the house as he left. He is Kyle. 10 years ago after leaving the village and the fight, Kyle and Kori decided to go and find at least a stable life. After they built the house, their daily routine was to hunt monsters and sell them at the city for more income. Kyle is now a tall 16-year-old with reddish orange hair and dark red eyes. Kori has light blue hair that extends down to slightly below her shoulders. Kyle was about to head towards the forest when he suddenly turned around and caught a shining arrow between his fingers from out of nowhere.

  "No wonder you were able to kill a fully grown dragon ten years ago." An old man with long white beard appeared out of the sky. Kori, having sensed everything from inside the house, rushed out and stood beside Kyle. "Now, now, there is no need to be alarmed, I'm not here for a fight." The old man reassured calmly. "I am here for a request."

  "And that is?" Kyle asked the old man.

  "It's right there, in your hand." Kyle noticed that there was a small piece of paper wrapped around the arrow that was used to shoot him. He unwrapped the paper and on it says:

Greetings Kyle,

  The elders at the city would like to invite you to Mount Nebula, as we have a favor to ask of you...

Although the letter only contained very little information, the pressure it brings out clearly indicates that it was written by a powerful person of great authority. The words were written and imbued with some sense of magic, making each letter seem like it's alive.

  "Are you willing to accept this request?" The old man asked.

  "What's in it for me?" Kyle was interested in the offer.

  "That is neither for me to say nor guarantee, as I am only a mere servant. There is a mark which reveals the path to the mountain. Now, if you'll excuse me." And with that the servant just disappeared into thin air again. Kori and Kyle were dumbfounded by the old man's acts.

  "Well, that was kind of strange." Kori spoke after a few seconds of silence."So what are you going to do? Heed his words and head to that mountain?"

  Kyle thought for a moment. "It's not like we have a choice anyway. An elder of a dragon tribe wrote this. I can sense the blood connection just from this letter alone." Kyle found the mark and retrieved the stored information.

  "Looks like we have to start preparing, for our journey." Kori told Kyle. They took out some storage rings that they had found in the various dungeons they had explored. They had collected 1 Topaz and 2 Emerald rings so far.

[Storage rings are classified by the colors of the gems on the rings. The lowest is emerald, followed by topaz, ruby, sapphire and the highest is amethyst. The better quality of the ring, the more storage space there is contained in each of them. Purple rings are the rarest of all, as it has the ability to store living things and let them still be able to thrive.]

  After they finished their preparation, Kyle and Kori waited until they traveled a safe distance from the city to let Kyle use his wings and fly both of them to the mountain. Mount Nebula is located roughly around the middle of the 5 main dragon cities. Upon making their way through the various forests and hills, they saw 5 mountains standing beside each other, like 5 fingers sticking out of the ground. Each mountain symbolizes an element. There are a total of 7 main elements; fire, water, wind, earth, thunder, light and darkness. There are numerous of sub elements, which could be created from the main ones, such as steel, ice, sand, etc. There are also ancient elements, which have been created by the gods a long time ago, which grant the control over time and space etc. "Apparently we're supposed to go in from the back?" Kyle was confused as the map given to them wanted them to go to the opposite side of where the gate was. As they finally reached their destination point, Kyle and Kori saw a teleportation device in the corner the a forest. After having confirmed that it was the right place, without any hesitation, Kyle activated the portal. (E/C) Uhm this is not much of a cliffhanger...)
