Fake Smiles

#2: Seeing Her Again!

Grayson woke up at 10am. He had a shower and made him and Ethan breakfast. Ethan came out his room to find Grayson making pancakes. They sat down and ate the pancakes together. They laughed and joked about things they did when they were younger. Grayson was actually really happy.

"So" Ethan started. "Are you going to see that girl again today?" Grayson looked at him. "From yesterday! You know, from the therapist! She was the girl in the room who you spoke to!" A smile came across Grayson's face as he remembered yesterday.

"Yeah, she needs help" he replied. "And if they think I can help, then I will! She deserves to be happy!" Ethan smiled at his brother. He was happy Grayson was finally happy. They got ready and made their way to the therapist. Grayson was nervous to see her again.

As they entered the therapist, Grayson was greeted by Sandra. She smiled at him. They made their way to the room they were in yesterday while Grayson went to Lily. He knocked on the door and walked in. He saw Lily lying on the floor again. He sat where he sat yesterday.

"Hey" he said. Lily didn't look at him. "How are you feeling?" He was asking her questions, trying to start a conversation. She looked at him with a genuine smile.

"I feel dead!" She looked back at the ceiling. Grayson looked at her with sympathy. They sat in silence for a while. "What about you? How are you feeling?" Lily asked. She sat up and looked at him.

He smiled at her. "I'm good, thank you! I spent last night with my brother and we had an amazing night! And this morning we ate breakfast together while laughing at the things we did when we were younger!"

A smile spread across Lily's face. "I'd love to have a sibling! I've always been the only child!" Her face fell. "But now I've got no one!" Her tear hit the floor. "I've got no one to have a good time with!"

"You've got me!" Grayson said. Lily smiled at him.

"Yeah, but you're always going to be with your brother or friends!" She said sadly. "You won't have any time to spend with me because you'd be too busy, or you'd be too tired!"

Grayson looked sad. She was right. He would be with friends or with Ethan, but he also wanted to be with her. "We'll come up with something! We will spend some time together! I promise!" She smiled at him.

"So, why are you here?" She asked. He looked sad. "You don't have to tell me!"

"No!" He exclaimed. "You told me about you, it's only right if I tell you about me. Me and my brother were bullied throughout school. From the age of 4 or 5, everyone bullied us. They wanted nothing to do with us. It got worse as we grew older. In highschool, we had two true friends. My 'friends' told me about the tweets people had been tweeting about me. Some of the tweets were from them! The whole app was about me and my brother. People tweeted things like 'I can't wait for the Dolan Twins to come to school' or 'I'm going to make the Dolan Twins hate school'!"

He breathed in. "I never understood why they hated us! They've never met us before, and yet they hated us! I hated school! There were times when I'd ask my mom if I could stay at home because I didn't want to go to school. My sister got bullied. Even the boys bullied her. We then moved and she was happy. I was happy that she was happy. She no longer got bullied. But the bullying didn't stop for me and my brother. I couldn't take it! I hated every second of school!"

Lily looked at him. She'd never been bullied before. She couldn't imagine the things he's been through! "Me and my brother made a video about it. You can watch it if you want..." Lily smiled at him.

"I'd love to!" He got his phone out as she sat next to him. He searched the video and pressed play. She watched the video, from beginning to end. She listened to every word they said. She felt hurt. He didn't deserve to be bullied. She felt like crying as they spoke about their experience with school. As soon as the video finished, she hugged him. "I'm sorry!"

He put his phone away and hugged her back. "Why are you apologising?! You didn't do anything wrong! It wasn't your fault! It wasn't Ethan's! And it wasn't mine! They chose to bully us. And they made us the people we are today!" He explained. "They probably regret it because of how successful my brother and I are! If not, then they're jealous!"

"Let's forget about them!" Lily said, breaking the hug. She looked him in the eyes. "They missed the opportunity to meet an amazing person! They will never regain that opportunity again! They broke you! And now, I plan to fix you!" He smiled at her. He was trying to heal her, and she was trying to heal him. She smiled at him as she hugged him again.

She loved to hug him. It felt like someone was there for her, like someone cared for her. She felt like she wasn't alone anymore. She just wanted to have someone hold her to let her know she's not alone. The only fear she has, is losing Grayson. Grayson broke the hug and smiled at her.

"Why don't you spend the day with me and Ethan?" He asked. She looked at him in shock. "We could go outside and enjoy life! We would visit places and maybe watch a movie! We would have so much fun! What do you say?!" He looked eager to get her out. She smiled at him. She wanted to get out of the building. She's been there for two days, she wants her freedom.

"I guess we're going outside!"
