So sorry for lack of updates!
Marcel
"Serena!" I call out, pushing the door open.
Empty.
I shiver, a coldness taking over my body. No one was here. Not Klaus, not Rebekah, not Serena. Nobody.
I look at the chains. They're broken, but by someone else. Klaus couldn't have done it or he would have a long time ago...
I dial Serena's number, hoping and praying she had them.
"Hello?"
"Oh thank god, Serena its me- Marcel."
"I'm sorry I think you have the wrong number," she says, truly confused. What? I am about to respond but I hear a ding, meaning she disconnected.
This is bad. This is really, really bad...
Caroline
"Let me talk to him. Please," I tell Klaus, not even sure of what I want to say. He nods, almost ready to argue with me but decides against it.
I swing open his apartment door. Marcel was standing, frozen and wide eyed by the window. He backs up a bit once seeing Klaus and Rebekah.
Looking at him now, I don't see anyone I loved. I see a stranger. A man who took me, compelled me, hurt me, manipulated me- he ruined me.
"You lied," I finally answer, silence interrupting the room. Klaus was right beside me territorially, eyeing him.
"Caroline I can explain-"
"Oh there's no need. The compulsion is off so there's no point anyways," I growl. He stands there, his eyes large.
"Serena helped you?" Marcel directs it towards Klaus.
"Yes, after I threatened her life and compelled her to forget you and never return to this city- shame isn't it? Having something ripped away from you..." Klaus steps closer to him. I follow, just to make sure he doesn't kill the guy. As mad as I am, I would never wish death on anyone.
"Klaus I-"
"Just a few days ago you wanted me dead. Now suddenly Caroline isn't compelled, you lost your real girlfriend, I've escaped and you want forgiveness? I will torture you like you did Rebekah, Caroline and I until the day you die," Klaus says, evilly. Marcel looks fearful, pressed against the wall by Klaus's arm.
"R-Rebekah?" He turns to her for sympathy. She looks into his eyes, scowling.
"You traded me for revenge and a girl you knew for one day. You made me compel her against my will, saying you loved me. And worst of all- I believed you. I went against my brother and now I have to deal with that the rest of my life. It's your turn, Marcellus," she growls lowly, backing away and taking my arm.
"Take him to the dungeon Nicklaus," Rebekah orders. Klaus pulls Marcel forcefully, dragging him away as he pleads for forgiveness.
