Chapter 15

HARRY'S POV

"So, what are you going to do about Kat?" I really hope he doesn't like her. What if she likes him? No, she can't, she likes you. Right?

"I don't know." Liam sounds kind of annoyed.

"Do you like her?"

"We're friends."

"Who started it, you or her?"

"It was just a kiss. Why does it matter?"

"I'm just trying to help you out."

"Why do you care so much?"

"I don't! I'm just..I'm trying to help you sort everything out, dick."

"Do you think I should talk to her about it? Maybe see if she likes me?"

"No, no. She's probably not even thinking about it, or you for that matter."

He scoffs and gives me a little nudge before he walks away. She wasn't thinking about him, right?

KAT'S POV

"Hey, what's up? Up to grabbing some food and having a little girls night tonight?" Maddie asks me.

"Yeah, that sounds fun."

"Is something wrong?"

"No, no. I'm good." I think I am. I haven't talked to Harry yet. He called me last night 3 times but I didn't answer. I wonder if everything's okay. I should talk to him. No Kat, you need to take control in this relationship, let him come to you.

Maddie and I walk to the coffee shop after class to wake ourselves up. I see Liam but i try to avoid all eye contact so he doesn't come and talk to me. I did hang out with him last night, but I need to keep my distance before I start to develop feelings. Did I have feelings already? Crap, he caught me looking at him. Greaaat.

"Oh, hey, Kat! Kat wait up!"

"Hi Liam."

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I don't know, it just seems ever since our kiss, you've been acting a little strange."

"Liam, we're friends, it was an accident, everything's fine." Was everything really fine?

"Yeah, you're right....well, I'll, uh, see you around." He rubbed the back of his neck and I could tell he felt awkward and embarrassed. I walked away as quickly as I could only to be pulled away behind the coffee shop.

"Hey Kat, I was wanted to talk to you."

"What's wrong? Why are we hiding?"

"I don't know, I just-" 

"You just what?"

He didn't respond.

"Okay, well you can come find me when you're ready to talk, in public. I'm tired of being your secret Harry."

I walked swiftly to my car before people would see the tears fall from my face. I wanted him to follow me and hug me and tell me everything is okay. I wanted him to try and change and make me not be his secret. Hope flooded my head, but deep down I knew he wouldn't.

By the time I got to my dorm room, Maddie was setting up for our girls night. I was happy because that's just what I needed. She had pillows and blankets set up in the space between our beds with bowls of snacks surrounding it. We lay down and turn on Safe Haven. I've read the book but I've never actually seen the movie. We're about 15 minutes into it when there's a knock on the door.
