Chapter 8 - The Girl in the Purple

"It's so dark in here." I said annoyed, not knowing where Deidara was. Then I saw a faint green glow as Deidara pulled out a light stick.

"Thanks." I said relieved to not be in the darkness anymore. We sat in silence for a few minutes before Deidara broke the silence.

"You know that light stick isn't going to last forever and I want to check on that arm of yours before it goes out." Deidara said moving closer to me.

"Um thanks, but I'll be okay" I said as he sat down beside me.

"I know I'm just making sure." He said rolling up my sleeve to show my wound. I'll admit the wound was still painful so I flinched at his touch. He looked up at me when I flinched worried that he had hurt me. After a while he went back to working on my arm. I watched as he took off the make shift bandage and prepared to clean up the wound.

"This is going to hurt a bit." He said as he grabbed a cloth and started to clean the wound. I flinched a little bit but it was barely noticeable. After he was done cleaning the wound he bandaged it back up and leaned against the wall next to me. We sat there in silence until the glow stick went out. I was fine at first but then I started to shake.

"Yang are you okay?" Deidara asked.

"Y-y-yeah I'm fine." I said voice shaking.

"Tch." Deidara said putting an arm around me, pulling me into his chest. I looked up at him wide eyed and confused by Deidara's actions.

"I know your scared of the dark." He said calmly. He looked down to see my staring up at him then looked away smirking. I leaned into his chest a little more, comforted by his warmth. I looked up at him one last time to see him looking down and smiling as I drifted off to sleep in his arms.

"Yang, wake up." I heard a familiar voice call. I looked up to see Deidara slowly shaking me awake.

"The sandstorm is over." He said with a calming voice. I hesitated to move not wanting to leave Deidara's arms.
