-Prologue-
>JANE<
<<<<FLASHBACK TO 3 YEARS AGO<<<<
I hear my door open as I glance at my wall clock to see its 4:45 in the afternoon.
That’s weird, she usually comes home 3 or 4:15.
“Hey Jade.” I greet her as she enters my room.
“Hey Jane!” She greets back without much energy which made me sort of puzzled.
“How was your day at school?” I asked sitting up to face her. Just to see her eyes bloodshot.
“Hey Jade why are you crying? What happened?!” I frantically start pressuring her without noticing. Holding onto her shoulders to scan any bruises or wound or scratches or ANYTHING!
“It’s Brandon.” She says softly as if struggling not to break down right here, right now. But a single tear slips, and another and another, and another. But she doesn’t stop them. I open my arms inviting her for a hug and she obliges coming towards me, I engulf her into a comforting hug as she silently cries onto my shoulder.
“DO you wanna talk about it or do you wanna talk about it?” I asked smiling a bit as I pull away from her. Meeting her Blue eyes that are boring into mine.
“Oh I don't have much of a choice don’t I?” She smiles back but it quickly falters.
“Nope, now tell me.” I demand softly grabbing a box of Kleenex (tissue) from my nightstand, pulling one out and gently wiping her tears away.
“I caught him cheating on me.” She starts with a smile and I nod telling her to go on.
“And I slapped him telling t was over and I also slapped that bit-“ I covered her mouth before she could continue.
“Language Jade.” I warn and she smiles, I smile back a bit before uncovering her mouth and smiling a bit.
“I was gonna say bit. Like 8 bit ‘cause she was fake.” She lies and I roll my eyes at her.
“Anyway I slapped her and walked away. And do you know who that girl was?” she asked and I shrugged.
“It was a new teacher. A young one may I add. And I told her that I was going to tell on her and she begged me not to do so and I was just like ‘PUH-LEASE! I DON’T EVEN GIVE AN F OF WHAT YOU'RE SAYING!’ and that’s when I walked off. And I did tell on her and that’s why I’m here late.” She explains.
“And when I told on her to the principal the principal was like *mimics a deep voice* ‘that’s IMPOSSIBLE! Well I need so proof Ms. Shapiro or there will be no firing today.’ And then I was like ‘why don’t you go check those security cameras you have?’ and then he did it and then saw it and then fired her! And then sort of suspended him for a week. And that’s when I called our driver, Henry, and told him to pick me up and yeah that’s pretty much what happened.” She started laughing at her horrible experience and I look at her with my eyebrows furrowed.
“What’s so funny Jade??” I ask her and she shrugs collapsing on my lap before crying again.
So bipolar. But that’s my sister for all of you.
“Shh, its okay Jade. It’ll all be okay in the end.” I try to comfort her.
“when are you coming out of this place?” Jade mumbles and I am taken aback by her question.
She rolls over looking up at me.
“I- I- I’m not so sure yet.” I answer honestly. What's the use of lying?
“Come on already Jane! You’ve been here for what? 3 years already! Heaven’s sake Jane, we’re 15! Its been 6 years!” she exclaims standing up from my bed, going to her side of the room, pulling her silver full length mirror in front of my bed.
“Look at you! You look fine! Why cant you just come out of this room and explore the world?” she points over to the blondie in front of me.
Am I even ready?
Cant it wait?
“but I just recovered, like literally 3 months ago.” I point out, crossing my arms over my chest.
My twin was beautiful, with wavy light blonde hair she inherited from mom. She was fair, slim and sexy. Any girl would die to be her.
Well I'm her twin obviously so girls would die to be me too???
Pfftt.. no way hoe-say. If that’s an actual word.
“So how much longer are you planning on staying here?” she asks, hands on her hips.
“I don’t know, 6 more years I guess.” I answer, glaring at my reflection with anger.
“I don’t know what I'm going to do with you Jane.” She sighs, walking around my bed and sitting on her own bed thinking for awhile before speaking once again.
“Hey Jane.” She calls me and I glance at her.
“What is it Jade?” I reply turning over to her.
“Just promise me one thing.” She pleads and I already feel like she's going to ask for something. Duh.
“Suure, anything for you twinsy.” I roll my eyes smiling at my sister.
“When I die, or if anything happens to me, you have to become me and take over my life and just be me, okay?” She asks standing up once again before opening the door, but she stands there waiting for my answer.
I knew she was going to ask for something ridiculous, but something tells me she's dead serious.
“Uhh, whatever you say Jade.” I decide to just say yes, she's already had a bad day, why make it worse?
“Good. See you later Jane.” Was her reply before completely walking out of our room and closing the door behind her.
>>>>FAST FORWARD TO 3 YEARS LATER>>>>>>>>>
I should’ve never agreed with my mischievous twin sister.
I should’ve seen it before.
But why didn’t she tell me?
That is definitely something I would never know.
