Being associated with the prefectorial board is simply not an easy task. Many others asked whether being a prefect does hold a lot of responsibilities. Of course it does, but being a prefect not only is that easy. It also need to set an example towards the other students.
Base on many school nowadays, it is often that a prefect is chosen through volunteering. Which is also a big issue among most schools in part of Kuala Lumpur. Volunteering does benefits the school having prefects, but it is even worse when we do not know that a prefect behaviour should be. We may find problems with attitude and behaviour among many prefects.
Prefects are now choosen by the board of prefects and not placing teacher in charge. These conflicts may caused a bad name for the school. Also students will follow the wrong example given by the prefects. Doing their duty is one thing in practical way, but in the theory is where you may find the true colour of a prefect.
Even though it is true that it is too late for another change in prefects. We must also remember that a product of fear is what given out by ourselves. Nevertheless, being a prefect also must be punctual, decently attired, responsibe and strict. That help will just do the best in becoming a prefect.
Last but not least, it is important that prefect shouldn't show a bad example or attitudes towards others. Rememering becoming a prefect always must set a good example towards others. It is not too late to try.
