I sat on on the beach in the late day to watch the sunset glimmer on the tranquil waves. They came in upon the sand in even strides. I shut my eyes, just listening, breathing, feeling, I slowly opened them, feeling so calm.
It had been a stressful time lately. The band was losing direction, the tiresome touring and recording, worrying about Brian's state of mind. I just needed some time to myself, to find something certain in my life to even out all the other chaos in it.
I watched the sun set completely, quietly by myself, feeling slightly saddened at the departure. I smiled as I realized it would be back tomorrow to warm and nurture the earth; this was one thing that was always certain. The sunrise.
I walked up the beach to my home in the chilly night breeze and hastily drifted off to sleep.
This story told from Carl's point of view, I know it's short, but there's more to come.
