‘Its not always easy but i'm here forever’
Mcfly the heart never lies was playing as I left work-it. And it was raining outside but I still decided to walk home, rather than have to sit in the car with Faith giving me a sympathetic look. The rain reminded me of when I was walking home yesterday after Blaze left me.
Taylor swift- forever and always I sent him, I didn’t want to go another day without him. I wanted him to listen to it all but I wanted him to realise I meant it all especially ‘so here's everything coming down to nothing’ I didn’t want it to be nothing anymore. I had only not seen him or talked to him for a day and it felt like a lifetime. I got in the door wet and waiting for a reply, I had made it to my room and into warmer, drier cloths including Blazes jumper he had given to me that night, it smelt just like him it was almost like rapping yourself in his arms. Then suddenly my phone started to ring in my pocket it was blaze, I didn’t know how to react I decided to let him explain himself since I didn’t want another day with him.
“hope don’t speak come outside just tell your family you will be out for a little while” blaze said and he hung up.
“i'm going out for a while” I said as I grabbed a coat and left I looked back to see Nanny kiri standing in the kitchen shaking her head at me but still smiling, I turned back to where I was walking to see Blaze leaning against Florida. When we saw each other we started running towards each other our feet slipping and sliding in the mud. We reached each other not sure what to do next. Standing only centimetres apart. He was stood there in front of me close enough to touch. Close enough to hope that he could see what I was thinking off. The rain pouring down on us. The only thing that separated us was rain and air. There was nothing stopping me jumping into his arms and hearing his heart beat with his arms around me. Except the idea that he might not hold me.
“sparks fly Taylor swift” I whispered
“what was that?” he asked his voice cracking like he had been crying, now that I looked closer his eyes were puffy and red too.
“a song that you should listen to” I said
“put it on” he smiled “right now, is it on your phone?”
“yeah hang on” I pulled out my phone and tried to find it the rain was still coming down hard making it hard for me to use it. Blaze picked me up and carried me to Florida, my arms around his neck and my head on his chest listening to his heartbeat. He put me down, opened the door, and helped me up. he got in the divers seat. I put the song on. ‘Drop everything now, Meet me in the pouring rain, Kiss me on the sidewalk, Take away the pain, 'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile’ My phone on the dashboard. My knees tucked up under my chin. Singing along to the song. With Blaze next to me listening to the lyrics. It was a perfect moment.
“can I take you to your surprise now?” blaze asked me in the silence after the song had finished “we might be able to get there just in time”
“yeah, I suppose so” I said as he set off.
I looked back at my house again to see the faith had joined nanny kiri in watching us from the kitchen window.
We were driving for about half an hour. When we finally stopped I had no idea where we were. He hadn’t stopped in the middle of nowhere this time, but instead we were down some side street.
“sorry it’s a bit of a walk” he said helping me out of Florida.
“where are we going?” I asked keeping hold of his hand
“southend sea front” he replied I could see him smile as we passed under a streetlamp
“why?” I asked confused. Southends a lovely place but the sea front isn’t exactly amazing surprise or a romantic setting. When we turned the corner there were tons of people all lining up along the walls by the beach. Blaze found a nice place for us to sit on the wall where there weren’t too many other people around. “blaze? Why are we here? And why are all these people here?”
“Remember in that song it said ‘I'm captivated by you, baby, like a firework show.’?”
“yeah” I asked unsure where this was going when a fire work went off in the distance
“were here to watch some real fire works” he said putting his arm over my shoulders and I took his hand and snuggled into the gap he had made by his arms. I had his jumper on and his arms around me I was where I belonged.
