Chapter Five: Strengthening my Power

It has been a few weeks since Koneko was assigned to watch over me. In the meantime, Rias and the others have been helping me find the basics of my newfound power.

So far? Nothing. My body is still adjusting to the strength I have already gained, complicating my progress. And in order to help that, Rias cast a spell on me which will slowly help in this problem. And today, the whole club is going to train me in the basics.

We started off by climbing up a large hill, carrying supplies on our backs. They were heavy, but I was determined to get to the top. My determination somehow gave me strength to keep going. I felt stronger. But only a little.

Once we reached the top, we took a water break. Issei and I both downed at least a half gallon, if not more. We were both exhausted, while the others were acting like it was no problem! I mean, I know we are all Devils, but come on!

I looked up at Rias and Akeno as the came over, being short is not fun. "Come on you two, we have to get training!" "Urrrggghhh..." Issei groaned unhappily. Once I caught my breath, I simply nodded. I surely hope I don't die during this. That would suck majorly. We then walked over to a flat area near the wooded part of the large hill, where we would do our training. Yay, fun...

We did various exercises until a few days passed. It was time Rias wanted to test Issei first. "Kiba, could you spar with him?" "Sure thing" Kiba replied. The two then got in their stances. "Issei, use your sacred gear." "But you told me not to use it!" "I told you not to use it without my permission." And with that, Issei summoned his Boosted Gear. "Boost your power!" Boost! "Keep going!" Boost! Boost! "Again!" Boost! Boost! Boost! Boost!!! A green energy ring appeared on the gem in the gear, and was absorbed into it. "Good! Before this training you were never able to hold this much power!" Issei had a sudden realization. "Issei, focus all of your energy into your hand." "But I suck balls at Magic!" "Just do it!" As he started, Rias moved on. "Kiba, don't hold back!" He got ready with his wooden sword. The first to fall, or get hit, would lose. "Damn it, it's not enough." A small red orb was in his palm. Kiba charged and Rias called out. "Now!" Issei followed the command, and a large energy beam shot from his palm, Kiba just barely dodged it. "Graahh!" The beam shot up the mountain to the peak, leaving the peak in a state of having a large gap at the top. "He destroyed the mountain." Koneko stated.

It was time for me to go. My training was simply summoning my sacred gear for now.

"Alright, Tokuda", Rias began, "I need you to focus all of your strength into summoning your gear." I started to attempt such, but each time I was about to do it, it would fail.

3 hours had passed, still unable, I have sudden determination to do it. I'm getting tired of this bullcrap. And just like that, I summoned a light purple-pink gauntlet with a white core onto my right hand. And in my head a voice spoke out: Good, my host. You are beginning to unlock and control your power. In the future I will help you in your battles. Until then...

And just like that, the feminine voice faded from my mind. I would remember those words for a very long time...I can feel it.

After the successes of the training, we all went back home. Koneko and I reached "our" home, and instantly went to sleep in our respectful areas.

That is, until tomorrow...
