Thick beads of sweat trickled down my structured jawline as I struggled with the last cardboard box, shuffling towards the half open door. Nudging the corner of the wooden frame door, I silently slipped into the small loft before setting the slightly damaged box on the rug. "Fuck." Kneeling down, I further inspected the damage inflicted upon the mangled box, before hesitantly unpacking my ukulele with gentle hands. Caressing the worn strings, a chaste smile tugged across my chapped lips as a strummed a simple tune. "But I can't help, falling in love.. with you." All to soon a silently sob clawed at my throat as the hoarse chorus fell from my lips, the blurry images of mom running through my mind. That was our song. Replacing the current item in my grasp, I placed the string instrument in my lap, before hesitantly grabbing a worn picture frame, revealing the kind faces trapped within the memory.

Prying the back of the frame away, I pulled the photo free from the glass, slowly inspecting it till I read the clear words. 'Jackson, a beloved son and joyous soul, and a courageous brother, one taken too soon. Emili, gentle one too all, a fragile sister and loved daughter. Robert, a father, a protector and a guidance through all darkness. Rosa, a warm and kind soul, one to assist you through all troubles, a soft and loving mother.' Clutching the faded photo in one hand, the rapid images coursing throughout my mind.

A spew of laugher drifted through the car as my father drifted through the passing cars, mumbling on about a recent business trip. Peeking through the hazy window, I watch in silence as a eighteen wheeler, pulling a mass amount of trees casually drifted back and forth between the lanes. "Hey Da-" time shifted in place, speeding up, where two seconds seemed like a fraction of the time. "Shit!" The noise of screeching metal rung in my sensitive ears, only to halt for a few moments as the once grounded car flew through the air. With a sudden impact, my head flew into the window, leaving a minor shatter, implanting a few singular slits of glass in my soft fragile skin. My face drained from all color as I watched my brother fly through the air; or what seemed to be him. My sisters limp body slung in the bloodied belt, the harsh cloth cutting through her pale skin. "Emili!" Weakly prying the belt from her sliced skin, I screamed in horror as my glassy eyes dart towards my brothers head laying in the front seat, while his body stayed planted in the back. Cradling my head with a hand, I climbed through the broken windows, only to find my father and mother strewn through the sunflowers, coated with blood. A sharp inhale of breath caused a flare of pain to ripple through my body, directed towards the wound inflicted on my head. Sirens filled the air as my pale, wobbly legs gave from under my weight, buckling, causing me to fall within the flowers, darkness ceasing my mind.

Tracing the outline of the photo, I drew in a sharp breath, calming myself before I stood. Six years. All of them left on the same day. Gone. Returning the photo to its final resting place, I set it on s small shelf, over looking the mediocre living room, once more a vacant smile drifting to my lips. Did I miss them? Who the hell wouldn't? Its a feeling, like your entire body is sad, numb almost. And even if you're healed, it never really goes away. Shifting my dark brown eyes over towards the looming boxes, I pull my long faded orange lockets into a messy bun before continuing to unpack the remaining boxes. Uri would be here soon, the pet delivery guy, or whatever said my mangey cat would be here within a few hours of my arrival.

As the sun tipped over the staggering buildings, I pulled off my washed jeans only to replace them with my grey joggers, ones my brother gave me. Flicking through the channels on tv, I soon settled on Orange is the New Black, which I really needed to catch up on. Limply propping my elbow on the worn arm rest, my eyelids drooped over my hazel optics, only to shoot open at the nose coming from my door. As I placed my hand around my phone I clicked the home button, a bright light erupting from the cellular device, showing the current time. 1:00 a.m? Silently striping the sheets from my frame, I slip towards the door only to peer through the peep hole, finding nothing in sight. As I feel somewhat safe, I flick the bolt up and open the door, viewing the seemingly empty hall. Only then did a soft voice chirp from beside me. They were kind faces, belonging to a nappy brown headed boy, and a somewhat intimidating guy, with fiery red hair and a circular piercing through his nose.
