Three months ago, Orpheus came into my life and I love him. Straight away. There was no question about it. I love his easy going temperament, his devil-may-care, up-at-one-corner smile. Orpheus made my life so interesting again. Seeing Orpheus was something I looked forward to with giddy excitement – he made things happen entirely by accident.
Four months ago before meeting Orpheus.
The taste of coffee in her mouth, her eyes barely open, hand slightly shaking and yet, this is the moment she wants to live in. It's peaceful. The world is quiet at this hour and it is more than she could ever ask for. She can hear the clock ticking and the low whisper of the birds chirping. The silence is not maddening, it's the one that keeps her alive. The world is beautiful like this. She love these moments when she can hear no cars rushing to places they have to be and people who frown at the sight of another day. She likes it this way, people dreaming and some snoring and others, waking up to find the love of their life in their arms while most are just serenely beautiful as they sleep. Moments like this are rare and almost unreal. She feels as though she's in a trance, dreaming about a world where chaos doesn't exist, where we aren't driven by power and wealth, where everyone is kind without an ulterior motive. Part of her wants to roll back to bed, there is no way 3 hours of sleep is enough but she wanted to be awake for this. There's this melody in her head that keeps her calm, she close her eyes and she can hear the soft strums of guitar. There's that voice, a beautiful, soothing voice singing. She breathes in and out.
"Let me live in this moment. I want to remember this day. This is the only reality I love."
"You are meant to shine" her mother said that before she left and leave her all alone.
It has been few days she lived without her mother. Her mother just left. No reasons and said nothing at all.
"Where did you go mom? I'm tired of seeing things end." she feels like crying. This house is a mess and it is miles away but everything is beautiful. The simplicity takes her aback. The person she used to be makes her wanted to scream in horror. She thinks everyone's sad. Everyone has that one thing that can make them crumble to their knees, a memory, a place, a song, a name. As morbid as it may sound, she doesn't think anyone is happy. Once in awhile, something happens, or maybe someone comes along and there's that moment when you think "This is what happy feels like." then it leaves and you spend the rest of forever wondering if it was a dream. She's not a "happy person", whatever that may mean.
"What if..?" she said slowly, raising her eyes to look at the ceiling. "What if I go for an escape at the forest and burst everything out while enjoy appreciating the nature?" She smiled.
On Sunday morning, Quince prepares herself to go to a mysterious forest that is rarely visited by anyone. She did make a research about the forest a week before she decided to go there and everything she saw stated that the forest she want to go is a scary forest. Many people said that the forest has very beautiful scenery but the mysterious creatures make people afraid to go to the forest even though the forest is very beautiful. Quince is willing to face the risk as she goes through into the forest. She wants to prove to people that the rumors about the forest are not true.
"What if it's true?" Quince wonders.
It took three hours for Quince to reach the place by her car. It is as quiet as you wake up at dawn. She only hears the sound of birds and the sound of a gentle breeze.
"Beautiful! Well I guess, I should start now." Quince was so excited to go into the forest, she took her travel bag and began her journey into the forest named Deacon Forest. The forest is a combination of tall trees and shady trees which makes it looks unique. The others plant in the forests gives an aura of tranquility for anyone who saw it. Quince took her camera and capture everything that is beautiful to her eyes that was too impossible to ignore.
