The week ends with the Generals of the base turning in their recommendations of Captains suited for promotion, ten new U.S Commanders were in the nearby future and the other U.S. Commanders want Amoura to have two full unit prepared for the sixth to take charge of since they have just gotten a large number of enlisted.
She goes over the list of names once more before logging onto Skype to face time the other U.S Commanders.
Clive walks in with food just as she's face time call ends, "oh good I'm starving," they eat in silence.
Just as the sun starts setting Amoura takes a break from ceremony paperwork and heads out to the track fields. She finds Rowan and his unit sparring among each other, "you still in shape Commander?" Rowan asks with a daring smile, as she approaches them, "is that a challenge?" He nods so Amoura pulls the coat she wears on her shoulders off and lays it on the bench and joins him.
After she pins him to the ground she tells him he shouldn't underestimate her just 'cause she sits on a desk now. He smiles and tosses her off of him, Amoura rolls back into a stand and turns quickly to catch his leg, she throws him in the air and waits for him to land.
She raises an eyebrow and as a smile makes its way to her lips, and at the end of each round Rowan is always in the losing party, "were you the best of your unit?" Rowan asks from the floor, "no, I was the worse." Amoura stares at the wooden stick Gray gave her. Amoura looks at him as he agrees to go another round.
He takes a stick from Gray and breaks it in two. They go at it unit Amoura loses her breath as she stumbles and falls on her butt, "Commander!" Amoura bends forward and holds onto her knees, "I'm fine, maybe you're right I am out of shape," Amoura muses as she tries to catch her breath, "you beat me six times in a row, I don't think that's it," Amoura lays down, "its probably the excitement getting to me, its been a while since I got to be this active." Rowan helps her up and Amoura calls it quits, "I'll spar with you again another day, I have things to finish first," Rowan nods and Amoura grabs her coat before returning to her office.
Amoura returns well after dark and finds Clive out cold so she falls asleep with her ear on his back, listening to his heartbeat seems to be what soothes her best nowadays.
Amoura wakes up to Clive stirring, "Sorry to wake you up," Amoura mutters that its fine as she turns around and falls back to sleep; only to be awaked by her alarm ten minutes later. Amoura groans as she pulls herself out of bed and into the shower. The freezing cold water wakes her right up and she curses loudly. She quickly washes up before getting out and pulling Clive's shirt on to go downstairs to complain. "The hot water isn't working again, please call the plumber and ask him when he's going to get here, " Clive nods as he drinks his coffee.
Amoura returns half dressed and serves herself coffee, "plumber said he'll be here today at five," Amoura watches Clive walk up to her and cup her breasts, "Clive what the hell are you doing?" He squeezes her breasts. "Your breasts have gotten bigger," Amoura slaps his hands away, "stop looking at me like that. But speaking of sizes, my shirts don't fit me, all the buttons stop at the bottom of my breasts, they have gotten bigger," Clive snaps out of his lustful moment, "you are going to put on a bigger shirt right?"
"I don't have a bigger shirt or undergarments. I haven't had time to go to the tailor to ask her to resize me." Clive looks at her, "you can't go out like that? You make that uniform look hot. Well, you've always looked good in it but you make it look- the point is you can't go like that. I'm not a jealous man, but I will be if even more men stare at my wife." Amoura smiles and walks up to him and kisses him.
"Be proud of the fact that all they can ever do is stare, unlike you who can touch," Amoura kisses him once more and he wraps his arms around her, "you're going to be late," Amoura says between kisses, "that's what Captains are for," He picks her up and sets her on the counter.
Amoura laughs as they go at it again on the floor, "okay after this, we got to go, I have a meeting at nine," Clive nods as he grabs onto her hips.
Amoura gets dressed as Clive heats up the omelet, "hey, Clive?" He nods in response, "I think I'm going to skip your breakfast, the smell is upsetting my stomach. I'll pick up a croissant on the way to the base," he looks at her, "you sure?" Amoura nods as she zips her boots back on, "yes, don't forget the promotion ceremony is today."
Amoura heads out shortly before Clive and stops at her favorite cafe for a breakfast croissant before heading to the Command Center that was decorated for the promotion ceremony that afternoon."Ma'am Houston, Holden, Mathers, Harriet, and Goulding are waiting for you." Amoura nods she walks over to the podium.
Ami leads the soon to be Generals outside the Command Center and up the stage. Amoura gives a small speech about how these troops actions have awarded them recognition and how they earned their new title
Amoura stands on the right as she calls each of them up according to their rank and promotes them. Amoura makes them recite the S.I.D.O pledge before giving them their new metal with their rank engraved on it and pins it on their formal uniforms.
"Today we celebrate the promotions of these fine examples of what this military stands for. I hope you all continue to succeed in the S.I.D.O." Amoura addresses the promoted one as her vision blurs so she holds onto the microphone podium as she thanks them for their service.
Amoura dismisses them all and tells them to enjoy the party, and she makes her way off the stage, "Stone you alright?" She walks down the side steps. "Yeah, just light-headed." She waves them off, "I don't think a Commander of the military should be out of shape?" Row teases as she walks up to them, "oh really? Let's run a mile, loser buys lunch." "Oh, you're on, I've been wanting Spatro-" Before Row finishes Amoura crashes onto the ground.
Amoura wakes up to Clive pacing, "will you stop that, I'm fine." Clive rushes over to Amoura, "you fainted you are not fine."
She sits up despite Clive's persistence, "I'm fine Clive," the doctor walks in then, "she is fine. Fainting and dizzy spells are normal during the first trimester of pregnancy."
His words send ice water down Amoura's veins. "What?" The doctor nods and tells Amoura her results. "He's not my mate." The doctor's face shifts as he looks at Amoura, "non-mate babies have a low survival rate and if made to full term, there is a low survival rate and a high defect rate. Termination is an option. Would you like to terminate?"
Clive quickly refuses the offer, but Amoura stays silent. "Amoura?!" The doctor gives them a minute alone. "Chance babies don't happen Clive."
"They could." He looks at her as she stares at her hands, "if the baby makes it full term chances she'll be still born if not she'll be born with health issues she won't last long."
"You don't know that." Amoura looks at him, "I do know that. I'm a chance baby." Amoura's words take Clive by surprise, "you're living proof our child could survive."
"I only survived because of Heminsworth. I took his extraordinary healing abilities and made them my own. Our child might not find their mate before time runs out for her. My parents married me off in case I died, I could be turned. I will not do that to our child. It's best to end it now before it hurts us."
"What if your wrong and the child growing inside you survives? There's a chance Amoura." Clive pleads as Amoura sits back down.
The doctor comes back in and tells them he needs the room, "I'll make another appointment for three days from now with Dr. Stacy Reda, she's the O.B.G.Y.N in staff. Discuss your options and then meet with her. I'll let her know about your case none the less." We thank him before walking out.
