Amoura paces in front of the laptop as she waits for her mom to answer the FaceTime call. "Amoura what's wrong?"
She stops moving and looks at her mom, "I know I said I didn't want to contact my biological parents but I changed my mind. Can you give me their info?" Layla looks at her daughter startled by the request before agreeing and heading over to the drawer that held that information.
Layla passes it to her daughter. Amoura thanks her and ends the call. Amoura searches for her phone and contemplates about calling her biological mother.
Clive and Amoura have spent the past two days arguing about what to do. Amoura was hell-bent on not wanting to go through with it, despite what she believes is best, Clive's words haunt her conscious and keeps her from going through with it.
Amoura picks up her phone and dials her biological mother number. "Hello?" Amoura asks for a woman named Eliza Avery."
"This is her, but I'm no longer Avery. Who is speaking?" Amoura takes a deep breath before speaking. "Amoura Stone."
"Oh God." Eliza starts crying as the phone clashes with the floor, "hello? Who is this? What did you say to make my mate cry?" A man comes on the phone.
"I told her my name is Amoura Stone and I was looking for her." Eliza takes the phone from her mate and tells Amoura she is here. "I'm sorry for my interrupted composition. I'm better now. Amoura I'm so glad you called me."
Eliza walks off to the study and closes the door behind her, "I was so afraid you'd never want to have anything to do with me. I was terrified I'd never get to tell you my side of the story."
Amoura tells her she understands why she was given up. "In fact, it's thanks to that sacrifice that I was able to live. You did what you believed was best for your child. But that's not why I'm calling." Eliza perks up at her words. "Oh no. Can I ask why then?"
"I'm a chance baby. You knew the risks of miscarriage we're high so why didn't you terminate?" Eliza smiles as she impulsively touches her stomach.
"I could not live not know if you'd survive. The only way to be one hundred percent sure of the outcome carry on with the pregnancy. It was all worth it, it was worth the chance of getting to hold and raise my children." Relief fills Amoura as she realizes that's what's been tearing her apart.
The uncertainty of knowing if maybe just may her child was the small percentage of surviving chance babies. "Thank you." Amoura pets her belly, "how far along are you?" Eliza asks after a few minutes of silence, "a few weeks." Eliza smiles as she realizes her daughter is having a baby, "and the father?"
"He wants to try and have this child." Eliza smiles as she recalls her ex-husband Lawrence. "Your father was the same."
"I have to go-" Eliza stops her from hanging up, "can we talk? Can I have your number? Can I call you? I know we don't know each other at all but I do understand what you're going through and I know it's a lot to ask but I'd like to accompany through this. If you'd let me." Amoura looks at the computer as she recalls her own mother, "you can call me." Eliza smiles at the small victory and they hang up. She clings to the phone thankful her daughter doesn't hold resentment, she beings to cry from the relief.
Back in Tuscany Clive walks in after the call ends, "well?" She looks at him, "I can not live until I know without a doubt if my baby survives." Clive breaks out into a smile and hugs her. "Thank you Amoura." She squeezes him, "we might not like the outcome. It will be a fearsome few months."
"It will all be worth it."
The very next day they meet with Dr. Stacy Reda and she goes over their options. Once Amoura and Clive assure her they wish to go through with the pregnancy Dr. Reda's demeanor changes, she was determined to make sure she can give Amoura and Clive all the medical support possible.
First Amoura your diet must be nutritious and you have to eat at least five times a day, three full meals and at least two snacks. We must remove any and all man-made problems, so eat well and you're active so you can walk and even run, just don't go run a course. Do not do anything too stressful, I know you're a Commander but try and keep calm. No fighting of any kind. She goes down a whole list of dos and don'ts. She gives Amoura a prescription of pregnancy vitamins and tells her to come in every week, and if anything happens to call her immediately.
