The last of the pack villages have been restored so we are having a party to celebrate. I quickly get the girls dressed as May and Sara get my brothers dressed. Once everyone's in a bathing suit we head downstairs. It's been a week since Chandler returned and I have yet to talk to him about Alice which is why he locks the door behind him when he walks into the study. "Alice wants to come here." "No." "Why not?!" "We're twins. Twins are banned! The council will have a blast with that! They don't like me as it is, this will be Christmas, New Years and Fourth of July all wrapped in one. It won't end well." "You don't know that." "I do, tell me who do you think will cause less of a scene, killing the Ex-Commander of the U.S Military or the daughter of a small pack with unknown Alphas?" "Amoura-" "no, why would you be okay with risking that?" "She's my mate-" "And bringing her here is asking for trouble. Let this go!" I walk out and join the party.
I play horseshoe for a while before they get out the volleyball net and giant beach ball. By then a large number of pack members were filling the pool to join in. Soon enough the older pack members start up the grills and make burgers. "Alpha you have a visitor." "Alright, alright I'm going," I say as I get out. "Continue without me. I'll be back soon." I say as I grab my robe and towel and dry my legs and waist. I tie my robe as I enter through the pack dining hall. "Chandler what are you doing here?" I say as I stop. "I get Alice is new to your life, but it's not right to leave her out. She's family." He says and I growl "for the last time, she cannot be here. What part of the council will kill her do you not understand?! Drop it Chandler. Now if you don't mind, I have a guest because I doubt you're the one that scared Susie." I step around him and I make my way to the foyer.
"Why is it that you're here Beta Vexion?" I say as Heminsworth walks in. "There's been rogue packs hiding out in the territory edge. Both packs have the treaty that states both packs will tend to the edge." He says "yes I remember, I honor my parent's pacts." I say to him. "Is that so?" Heminsworth says "of course, I'd be a Sterling right now if Alexander hadn't died." He growls before motioning us out the door, "then after you." He says and I smile back at him, "I'll be there after I change." I look at Heminsworth who is looking at me and I see his eyes telling me 'what a shame.' I roll my eyes and I go up and change.
As I get ready, I call my Beta and Gamma to join me and I ask Zane my Delta, who is the pack trainer to keep an eye on the party for we might have a rogue problem, and that wolves from the Wolf Den Pack are in the territory. I make my way to the edge. "I've had my Beta come and talk to you for days now but they always say you're busy." Alpha Heminsworth says as I catch up. "He speaks. Yes, I've seen have been in town getting something sorted out. Rogues." I step closer to the wood line. "They're this way." He says "there's a few down there but there's more over here. I can smell them." "We need a plan." Beta Vexin says "you all can plan. I fought for a living. So I can just go." I say as I feel my claws. "You all can head down to the center of the edge," I say as I run.
I make my way across the harsh terrain until I reach the rogues. "You're trespassing," I say, making them jump in surprise. "What didn't expect me to find you here this deep within the edge?" I say and they run towards me I get down on my knees and stick out one leg out and I grab his neck and break it. I get on my hands and I kick another one in the face. Another wolf growls and I take him down too. Soon enough all eight rogue wolves were dead and my Beta and Vixen were storming into the clearing. "You missed it by a second Alex," I say as he tosses me the flask of gasoline and matches. I drag their bodies into a pile and soak them in gas and burn them. "Shall we go on ahead?" I say "there are no more rogues here on this side." I say and he nods we leave our Betas in the clearing to make sure the fire doesn't spread to the trees.
"You've changed." He says I laugh "I could have told you that." I say to him as I jump off a rock and continue my walking pace. "The girl that I watched over doesn't kill eight men and not blink." He says "the girl you watched over disappeared years ago." I say to him "Amoura-" "I'm fine I learned to accept myself for what I become, it's you who still believes I'm still a kid." I say to him and we continue the rest of our walk in silence.
Before we make it back to the edge he grabs my arm and pulls me back. "I don't know what I should say." "There's nothing to say," I say and I turn to continue walking. "The edge is the next place we should search." "We can't go too deep this unprepared. We'll do a basic search for scents and tomorrow we'll have a proper group to take to search the edge." He says to us. We go out separate ways and I head to the pack house to inform my pack of our situations, all too quickly sixteen other pack elders and I are huddled around territory maps trying to find the best way to infiltrate the edge with the best advantages at our side. Once we find it, I take my findings to Heminsworth.
I walk into his pack house and I make my way to his office. "Can I help you?" "No, I'm here to help you." I lay down the map and I give him the multiple plans the elders and I came up with. I look at him as he looks at me intensely at me. "What?" I say and the look he gives me makes me smell my skin. "Damn it." I say and he nods "you're going into heat." "So much for that medical intervention, the military gave me," I mumble as I look at Heminsworth. "Yeah, I should go," I say as I step back. I really don't feel like jumping him. "No! Like hell, I'm going to let you walk across the large woods where any man can find you." He says and he grabs me.
"Well it wouldn't be the first time," I mutter as he picks me up, "Wait where you taking me!" I say as his touch starts making my skin tingle. He carries me over his shoulder up to his room and he put me in the closet. "You've got to be kidding me!" I say as he closes the door. "Heminsworth let me out!" I say "there's a pocket door at the back and it leads to the bathroom." He says "I don't give a damn where it leads to! Heminsworth let me out of here!" I say "I will. Once you're out of heat." "Heminsworth!" "Amoura." He says from the other side of the door. "You can't just keep me here." I say "yet I am." He says to me. I sit against the door.
"You locked me in a room that smells like you. This is going to drive me insane." I say to him. "Then go to the other room." He says "I'm too lazy to do so." I say to him. "From all the times to go into heat," I grumble. "Tell me about it." He says to me. "You don't know how much it takes to not open this door and make you mine." "Can you at least go and get me my bath supplies, the last thing I need is another reason to smell like you," I say as I get up and I walk to his bathroom.
