"Welcome to my humble abode!" Joe shouted as he opened the front door.

"Chloe!" Caspar yelled as I walked in. He quickly ran up and engulfed me in a hug.

"Hi Caspar, this is my brother Drew," I said introducing him.

"If you don't mind they are going to stay for a few days, they are having a few problems at home," Joe explained.

"That's no problem! You can stay here as long as you need, it's no problem!" Caspar replied.

"The only problem is sleeping arrangements? We have two double beds and a sofa, so two of us need to share?" Joe asked.

"I'll take the sofa, my beds free if you want it?" Caspar offered.

"Me and Drew will share, it's fine, we are brother and sister at the end of the day, I suppose." I agreed.

"Sounds good, I might have a sleeping bag if someone wants it?" Joe said.

"Yes!" Drew shouted quickly making it blatant he didn't want to sleep with me. I understood though.

"My room is fairly tidy if you want to go and dump your stuff- I'll show you where it is," Caspar said to us and began to lead us to his bedroom. "This is where Joes room is, that's my bathroom there you can use and Joe has his own. If you two want to share that bathroom I can use Joes so you can have it to yourself. Besides I like Joes bathroom better anyway! This is my bedroom which you two can have, the bed might not be made but I promise it's clean sheets!"

"Thank you so much Caspar, I really appreciate it." I said.

"Yeah me too," Drew agreed.

We went into the bedroom so we could sort our stuff out. Drew dropped his bags on the floor and began setting up the sleeping bag next to my bed.

"You ok?" I asked. I could tell he was down but he had every reason to be. Our family had fallen apart and there was nothing we could do about it.

"I miss our family," he sighed.

"You can go home if you want to, but I'm staying here!" I explained.

"No, I don't miss this family, I miss our old one." He began tearing up. I had never really see Drew cry. My older brother had always been stronger than me but now I was seeing him crack and I didn't like it.

I knelt down next to him and hugged him tight. "It's ok, don't think about it for the next few days, let's just pretend we are staying at a friends house and having an extra long sleepover. Now come on, let's go upstairs and get some food."

By this point it was nearly 7 o'clock and we were all fairly hungry. We headed up the stairs to find Joe and Caspar sprawled on the sofa watching the football with their laptops.

"Hi, sorry we were just editing," Joe explained, "do you want to get some dinner? We can order Chinese if you want?"

"Joe could I speak to you for a minute?" I asked. I realised I couldn't afford any expensive food because I only had about £50 and that needed to last me.

"Of course," we went downstairs and into joes bedroom where we both sat down on the edge of his bed. "Please excuse the mess," he laughed.

"No, it's not messy! Anyway what I wanted to say was that, I saved up throughout my life £50 emergency money incase something like this ever happened. It's not a lot but I've had to earn it through tips at dance. I'm really sorry but I can't afford things like takeaways so is it ok if I just run to the shop and get a loaf of bread and cheese or something just to last me and Drew the next few days?" I asked.

"Chlo, I couldn't do that to you. You can't live on scraps it's unfair!" He replied.

"I most all my life, I'm used to it."

"No Chlo, we are going to have Chinese tonight and it's going to be my treat. We have bread and things to make sandwiches in the cupboard, we have loads of food in the freezer and stuff for breakfasts. You don't need to buy anything, you keep that £50 because you never know when you might need it."

I began to tear up at this. He was being so thoughtful towards me and he had only known me a day. It made my heart melt that someone cared so much. He could clearly see this so he grabbed me into a tight warm soothing hug.

I knew I was in the right place being here.
