"It's rearry earry." Kiku rubbed his eyes when he entered Arthur's room. "What if Arfred notices I'm gone?"
"You were dead once, right?" Arthur questioned, ignoring Kiku's objections.
"Hai."
"Like, you were legally dead for a while or..."
"I committed suicide and was dead for more zhan a year."
Francis gasped and Arthur stepped back.
"Quoi?! 'ow did you end up alive?!"
"It's hard to exprain..." Kiku stepped back. "But I'm sure you can figure it out soon enough..."
"But..."
"Rook...I can't terr you anyzhing. Just forrow your heart and everyzhing wirr be okay..."
"Follow our hearts?" Arthur scratched his head as Kiku turned and stepped out the door.
"Keeks? Where'd you go?" Alfred stumbled down the hallway, rubbing his eyes.
"I'm right here. I was rooking for zhe bazhroom."
"Oh...uh..."
Kiku wandered toward Alfred's voice and out of the sight of the two ghosts.
"Arzhur..."
"Yes?" Arthur turned back to Francis who was looking down at his hands.
"You said you liked me..."
Arthur averted his eyes. "Can we just forget I said anything?"
"But I need to know somezhing..."
"What?"
"It's just because I'm all you 'ave, isn't it?" Francis sighed.
"What?!" Arthur stepped back.
"I just want to be sure...zhat I'm not wasting my time letting myself fall for you."
Arthur was speechless. "You-"
Francis sighed. "Never mind." He stood and headed toward the door, footsteps thumping loudly against the hardwood floors. Arthur groaned and lay back in his bed, trying to sort his feelings. Did he like Francis? Was he just confused? Desperate?
He groaned in frustration, not sure how to figure this out.
Kiku had told him to follow his heart, but he didn't know where his heart was headed.
But he did know one thing above all else.
This was going to end in disaster. This one is way too short but I have a reason!
It was boring af to write.
I crave the pain salt.
