"I love you son," The dark figure said solemnly as she left to complete the mission she had vowed to finish a year before. She jumped out of the open window into the shrubs around the quiet house. It might be the last time she would see him. As she walked down the deserted street to get to her destination, she silently sobbed thinking that the last time she would see her one-year-old son was that cold December night. It was dark in the deserted alleyway, but she could see the way through; she only had a few more minutes until she reached the end. From there she was walking in dangerous enemy territory. Something rustled the garbage beside her. Being on high alert, she jumped toward the sound, moved the trash bag and got ready to fight in less than three seconds, but the thing that rustled in the dark alley was only an alley cat. She scolded herself for not being cautious about her movements; what she just did might have put her in the enemies hands. As she walked out of the alley she was ready for an attack, but surprisingly none came. As she walked the rest of the way across the well-cut lawn of the Smithsonian without a single attack, she thought that maybe they had given up, and gone back home after she hadn't made another attempt to get help for her planet. She made her way up the steps and to the doors. She opened the doors ready to take fire, but none came. Her soft footsteps echoed across the well-polished floors. She made her past the massive Elephant in the lobbying made her way to the jewelry section and found what she was looking for. The amulet sparkled menacingly in the dark.

"Wow, I can't believe it. It's for real." Suddenly a miniature explosion lit up the museum and something came whizzing past her left ear. She knew immediately that they were here. If she was to see her son and save her world, she had to make a hasty escape. She ran towards the exit, all the while bullets were embedding themselves in the walls all around her. She made it to the exit without getting shot, which she wasn't worried about, the enemy right on her tail. She ran even harder as she thought of her son. She had to at least make it out. She dropped the ancient artifact in the backpack she had brought along, she slipped the small little ball out of her pocket and squeezed it. It lit up into the ordcemaw, the only one on her planet. A weapon that was passed down from generation to generation. The weapon looked like a sword on one-half and a long ax blade on the other. One of them came around the corner and she easily destroyed it with a flick of the wrist. She killed two more of them before running some more. She thought to herself that their general hadn't come, just foot soldiers. She was almost out of the door and free when something stepped out of the shadows. It was the general.

"So sad, you were almost there. You almost escaped us for the second time. Too bad you'll never see your son again, huh?" He said with mock sympathy

With a surge of anger she yelled with all her might "You shouldn't have said that you bloated bag of bones!" As she rushed forward, she caught the general off guard for a moment. She used that moment of surprise to get through the doors and opened up her concealed wings, and flew into the night sky. Right as she thought she had escaped, believing that she was going to see her son again and save her world, a searing pain appeared in her right wing.

"Ah!!! My wing." She yelled in pain as she plummeted to the ground. She hit the sidewalk outside the Smithsonian hard. The general calmly walked over to her limp body

"Well, Jegikema, you have failed to get the help for your planet. Search her for the amulet." Three, foot soldiers walked over, patted her down and found the amulet.

"NO, please don't. You don't realize what you've done. Without this amulet the planet will decay." She said desperately

"Oh, don't you think that I know that? I have the most brilliant scientist from the entire multiverse." He said flatly, then with a blinding white light Princess Jegikema was dead. Later that morning her husband would find her body in the kitchen, and the police would "discover" that she died of a heart attack. Nobody would ever know that there was a battle of aliens involved, they would make sure of that. Nobody would notice that the artifact labeled "The amulet" was a fake replica. And little did Princess Jegikema know that she had lost her ordcemaw when she rushed the general, the ancient weapon had rolled into a crevice where no one would find it except a... true king.
